Murchison House Station is situated on the Murchison river, Kalbarri. This 350 000 acre property is a family run venture.

The station runs beef cattle, rangeland goats and also offers nature based camping. Canoe safaris and quad bike tours are available Murchison House Station was founded in 1858 by Charles von Bibra to provide meat and wheat to lead miners at Galena, beef to the growing Perth market and remount horses for the British army in India. Its rich history has been shaped by the hands of pioneering battlers, wealthy wool merchants and even an Indian prince. Today this 350 000 acre property is a family run venture endeavouring to continue the pastoral traditions and offer and insight for visitors into the outback life. Murchison House Station focuses on the production of beef cattle and range land goats as well as offering nature based camping and a range of tours. The property is open to the public from Easter until the end of October. During these months camping and 4WD access is available
We close over the summer months to focus on mustering and station activity. Access can still be arranged through guided tours including canoe safaris, quad bike tours.

🎨 We were thrilled to have international award-winning artist Leon Holmes stay with us here at Murchison House Station.

Leon specialises in outdoor oil paintings and his work covers an incredible range of subjects — from animals and beaches to old cars, landscapes and so much more. His paintings really capture the character and beauty of the things he paints.

Leon had an amazing time during his stay with us, and we were delighted to have him experience Murchison House Station.

We love seeing so many of our campers who are avid birdwatchers, enjoying the opportunity to explore the station and tick off the species they spot from their lists.

🔥Crepes Around the Campfire 🔥

Murchison House Station was delighted to host Dorian from Oh La La Creperie & Cafe around the communal campfire last night!

Our campers had a fantastic evening enjoying delicious crepes and sampling all the different varieties on offer.
It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying some great food, good company and plenty of laughs around the fire.

A huge thank you to Dorian for a wonderful evening and for sharing your delicious crepes with us.

🌸🌼 Wildflower season at Murchison House Station 🌼🌸

The wildflowers are out in abundance, putting on an absolutely spectacular display! 🌿💐

It truly is such a special time to be out camping, exploring the station and enjoying the incredible beauty of nature all around us.

There’s something pretty magical about waking up surrounded by wildflowers and wide-open country.
