Two days. 37 riders. More bananas than we could count. And $311,260 raised for cancer research 🚴
Team MLG powered by ILD spent the weekend riding from Perth to Mandurah and back for the 2026 MACA Cancer 200 Ride for the Perkins.
There were nerves at the start line, particularly for our six first-time riders. There were headwinds that seemed to follow us everywhere, sore legs and some serious questions about getting back in the saddle on Sunday morning.
But there were also families ringing cowbells, strangers cheering us on and teammates finding the right words when someone needed a little encouragement.
For many of our riders, this was deeply personal. Some were thinking of loved ones going through treatment right now. Others were riding in honour of a cancer survivor, and others in memory of someone they wished could be waiting at the finish line.
Those reasons kept us moving. And when we finally arrived back at Langley Park to our loved ones, there were plenty of smiles and a few tears.
Thank you to our riders, donors, volunteer support crew, and corporate partners. You helped make this weekend possible.
Team MLG has now raised more than $885,000 over five years, and our goal of $1 million in 2027 is within reach. We’re very proud to have contributed to the $9 million raised for the Perkins through this year’s event.
For now, we’re giving our legs a rest! Thank you to everyone who gave us a reason to keep pedalling 💙
