Founded in 1851, the House of Charles Heidsieck has built its reputation on a singke act of patience: holding every cuvée on its lees for years longer than conventionally required. Long after most houses had moved on to release. 🥂🍾

The house was titled 'Godfather of Champagne' by Winston Churchill, not for its size, but for the quiet authority tof a house that never rushed itself for anyone. That patience is still the point, it's what gives the wine its depth 🍇

À la vendange 🥂 It's harvest season!

Late August into September marks Champagne's harvest or 'Les vendanges'. It is considered the most regulated harvest in the wine world.

🗓 Official harvest dates are set each year, village by village, based on grape maturity across the region's 300+ crus.
🍇 Hand-picking is mandatory to keep grape clusters undamaged on their way to the press.
🍾 Yields are capped, only the first, purest juice pressed is reserved to become Champagne, acting as a quality filter.
✨ The result is a harvest defined by retraint, as much as ripeness. How each house handles it, tells you eberything about the wine that follows
