Looking for a last minute gift idea this Christmas? Or want to bring something special to Christmas lunch? These two gorgeous fortified wines are easily going to be crowd pleasers!
After having a look (and thorough taste) through our fortified barrels, we’ve decided to release a Monichino White Muscat & decadently aged Monichino Aromatica, better known as Marsala, just in time for Christmas.
The Monichino White Muscat is a 1980’s baby that’s aged so finely it’s not much of the original light colour it once was. Time has turned this into a dark, moreish liquid gold that’s hard to stop at just one nip! Retailing at $80 per bottle.
However, the Monichino Aromatica is something truely special. Hidden away in a barrel so old it doesn’t even have a date on it (thanks nonno Carlo!), however we guess it to be from the late 60’s to early 70’s and is every bit as luscious and decadent as you can imagine. Retailing at $100 per bottle.
