Today we spent a day at LaFamilia Pygmy Goats learning more about caring for our little goaties.
We heard from guest speakers on everything from tagging requirements, goat health, nutrition, parasites and faecal testing, through to hoof care and handling emergency situations. Melissa also shared the thinking behind her breeding program, which was incredibly interesting why she does what she does.
Armed with our new knowledge, we came home and gave our own goats a thorough once-over. They're healthy, happy, and in great condition... maybe just a little bit spoilt!
One of the highlights of the day was all the baby goats. We even got to witness twins being born while we were there, which was pretty special.
We also met our goats' grandpa, Callum, who is a very handsome, very stinky and very chonky gentleman 🩵
Goats are the best, very thankful to Melissa and Nell for organising today.
Check out the video in the comments. Little purple bubba goat was so determined to get up the big tall wall 🥰
