Manuka with buds developing. This time last year it had finished flowering with no return as it was too dry for nectar flow. The leptospermum variety in the last two photos is flowering with lots of native bees (hover fly) on it but no honey bees, not one. Plenty of honey bees on the Cape w**d on the ground. I'm assuming that the nectar of the Cape w**d is sweeter and therefore more attractive to the bees. I'll wait another two weeks and hopefully the weather will warm up and assist in the excretion of nectar. It's just that this secluded site is 500 kms and some hard dirt tracking to get there. That's 2000 k return to check the site and transfer hives there, another 1000k for honey harvest if there is a surplus and at least again to move the hives to red gum after that. "It's a living".

Bogged again! Looks like green pasture but when you pause on this wet sand country the vibration of the truck is enough to sink down to the diff. I was checking the access to this seasons manuka. I think you can guess the answer to that quest. Time for plan B, or is it C.
