Kangaroo Island has a unique and special range of eucalypt varieties, each variety produces a honey with a distinct flavour. Our beekeepers carefully select our apiary sites, and relocate hives as the season changes so that our bees can produce the single botanical honeys that Kangaroo Island is famous for, including Sugar Gum, Cup Gum and Pink Gum. These rare honeys can only be produced in certain environmental conditions, and are unlikely to be repeated.

A gentle hand is required for a gentle bee. 🐝

When Brenton checks in on the hives, every movement needs to be calm and careful. Opening each hive and gently lifting the frames, he’s looking for signs the colony is healthy, settled, and doing what our hardworking Ligurian ladies do best. 🍯

Eucalyptus Cosmophylla Honey was never meant to be a thing, but when our Cup Gum accidentally crossed paths with our ultra-rare Karkalla Honey during extraction, something pretty special happened. 🍯

“So, when we extracted this honey, we had just finished extracting Karkalla Honey, and I left some remnants of it in the extractor. Before the jars, shop shelves, and awards, there were bees, frames, and family. 🐝

A lot may’ve changed over the years, but for Brenton and Verity, the heart of the hive remains the same. 💛
