Newest Local Whisky discovery

Over the last 12 months we have seen huge growth in the Tassie whiskies available under $100. There are a lot of reasons for this, but it’s great for our customers who can more easily support local distilleries.

We would like to introduce our latest discovery in this sub $100 category. The Black Snake Hotel from the team at 7K distillery, who are now based in New Norfolk.

Black Snake Hotel pours as a deep rich dram, with intense sweet malts and notes of stewed fruit ….. think Christmas Cake. This stuff is really delicious.

Calling all Jack Daniels, and American Whiskey fans ..... Something very special has arrived.

We were lucky to receive one case of the very limited allocation of Jack Daniel's 10 Year Old that has come into the state.

Jack 10 takes all the great parts of Classic JD and turns them up to 11 - Expect caramel, toasted oak and vanilla, with layers of dark fruit, baking spice and a touch of char. Smooth and warming, with a long, oaky finish that shows off those extra years in the barrel. Rich and rounded, with classic Jack Daniel’s character.

These will be snapped up by fans and collectors quickly, don't miss out. We have no idea when or if we will see more.

It's quite the week for new Whisky around here this week.

However, we aren't done yet. We have saved the two most significant for Friday.

After many years of being unavailable for retail sales, arguably Tassies best whisky, Sullivans Cove is once again on the shelf. We have the Double Cask in store and can access other whiskies for customer orders.

Keeping the Sullies company in the whisky cabinet is the first in the new Wild Turkey Archives range. the Archives range replaces the Turkey 'Masters Keep' range that has been Turkeys flagship range in recent years. This 16 year old release aims to emulate the near mythic early 90's 'Gold Foil' Wild Turkey, some of the best the distillery ever released. We have one singular bottle this gem.

We all know Tasmanian Wine is some of the best around, so its always great news when one is acknowledged on the world stage.
The Dalrymple 2024 Pipers River Single Site Pinot was recently awarded Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards (the largest and most well regarded wine show in the world).
As exciting as this news is, why do we bring it up you ask?? Well, we just had a case arrive in store.

Those Mad Scientists at Hopfields Brewery are at it again with their new limited release, a Blueberry Cheesecake Cream Ale.
Not a beer for everyone, but for fans of adjunct heavy (flavoured) dessert style beers this ones a winner.
It pours a pale shade of pink, with stewed blueberry coulis to start, then creamy hints of vanilla, with enough malt from the base beer to make you think of cheesecake crust.

Weird, yes, Kind of out there, of course, worth a try ...... definitely.

We love supporting our local producers, and their are many more local than Overeem Whisky , so its always exciting when we get a new whisky from them, even more exciting when we get three!!!
1. Batch 2 of Overeems multi award winning Pedro Ximenes Sherry cask. A rich, layered and decadent whisky.
2. "Family Stout Finish" This whisky is a marriage of two hand-selected Port and Bourbon Casks, finished in fresh and chocolatey stout casks.
3. Nanook X - The spiritual follow up to the acclaimed Dome Argus, in honour of Antarctic and Artic exploration.

These three are extremely limited and sure to become collectors items.
