I know what I want.

More flowers, obviously.

But I also want more women in my circle who believe in building community. Women who understand the early mornings, the muddy boots, the juggle, the joy, and the challenges of life on the land.

That's exactly what I found at Cream of the Crop—and I left with far more than interesting insights into dairy, recycling farm plastics, building wealth and expanding businesses. I left with a community.

When I asked my community to throw me their old gumboots for the Cream of the Crop , I hoped to create something meaningful.

Inspired by the beautiful chinoiserie gumboot artwork by Natasha Tarasova 🕊️ Whimsical Illustrator, this piece is a tribute to the women of agriculture—the mothers, wives, daughters and matriarchs whose footprints shape our farms, families and communities.

Every pair of boots tells a story. Together, they tell ours. 🤍

Winter is our season of preparation.

While the flower fields appear to be sleeping, we're planting bulbs, pruning, building new garden beds, repairing fences, planning workshops, dreaming up spring, and making hundreds of decisions that no one ever sees.

It's slower, yes... but it's certainly not quiet.

Every bunch of flowers you enjoy in spring starts with the work we're doing right now.

So while the blooms are resting, we're busy growing the season ahead. 🌱❄️
