Hi Farm Family,
We wanted to take some time to give you an update on what we have been up to recently and share some of the exciting experiences we have had.
Rob and I (Annette) recently travelled to Brisbane to attend our very first meeting with the Australian Lychee Association. As this was our first time attending, we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but we were very excited to be involved and to have the opportunity to meet other people within the lychee industry.
It was a fantastic experience, and we were fortunate to meet so many wonderful and knowledgeable people. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, friendly and willing to share their experiences, advice and knowledge with us. We have already learned so much from the people we met, and we are very grateful for the time everyone took to speak with us and answer our questions.
While we were in Brisbane, we also had the opportunity to visit the Rocklea Markets. We were amazed by the size of the markets and how much activity there was happening throughout the day. It was a great opportunity to see how the markets operate, how produce is presented and displayed, and how everything comes together from the growers through to the marketplace. Seeing it all firsthand gave us a much better understanding of the bigger picture and the opportunities that are available within the industry.
We also visited several other markets and agricultural businesses while we were in Brisbane. Each place offered something different, and we found every visit interesting and valuable. Being able to see how other growers and businesses operate has given us plenty to think about and has opened our eyes to new possibilities for our own farm.
Most importantly, this trip has given us a renewed sense of excitement and optimism about the future of our farm. We can now see more opportunities and possibilities for the farm than ever before. There is still plenty for us to learn, but we feel that we are heading in a positive direction and are excited about what the future may bring.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone we met during our trip for being so generous with your time, knowledge, advice and encouragement. We truly appreciate everyone who took the time to speak with us and share their experiences. Your support and willingness to help has meant a great deal to us.
We are looking forward to continuing to build these new relationships, learning more, and putting some of the ideas we have gained into practice here on the farm.
We are also very much looking forward to the next Australian Lychee Association meeting and to catching up with everyone again.
