Watts Fresh is a local business that was started by Fred Watts just before the end of the second world war when he grew vegetables at this address and delivered them around town on his push bike. The business is now owned and operated by Dean and Sherril who have been in the fruit and veg business for more than 22 years, and were named Fresh Produce Retailers of the year in 2007 in one of their other stores.

Pop into Watts Fresh this afternoon and say to Amelia from Shakespeare Hills yoghurt. Produced in the pristine North West of Tasmania on the edge of the Tarkington this yoghurt is full of 100% grass fed goodness from happy cows on a fifth generation farm. The Sun was out on Monday and I took the chance to sit on the public bench I built out the front of the shop. With these two local legends. Harey closer to me (Sherril’s Uncle Jeff Hare) and Shaikey. When Shez and I got married it was Shaikey who drove us in his lemon yellow Lincoln Coupe to our reception. You know, we often let these opportunities slip us by because we’re busy but these days I try very hard to savour these little moments and sit in the sun with people I love as often as I can. Life’s short, remember what’s important.
