The owner of these rusty garden shears told me he was heading off on holidays 🎣 and wanted them sharpened and ready to go by the time he got back.

Well… I couldn’t help myself! 😂
I thought they deserved a little more than just a sharpen — so they got the Deluxe Treatment! ✨✂️

A bit of TLC, a serious clean-up, plenty of elbow grease and, of course, a razor-sharp edge.

I think he’ll shout me a 🍺 or 4 when I return them. 😉🤞

Had the pleasure today of sharpening head chef’s knives from Vivo Italian Restaurant. 🇮🇹🔪

Now, my wife & I aren’t exactly restaurant connoisseurs… 😂 We’re probably just as happy with fish & chips, sitting on the headland overlooking Town Beach! 🐟🍟
That said, we have eaten at Vivo and I can definitely recommend the 200g Black Angus Eye Fillet. 😋🥩

These Filipino-made Nacionale Bladeworks knives were given a brand-new 17° edge and are now back where they belong — working hard in the kitchen! 👨‍🍳🔪

Julius, a home chef, brought me his favourite Sabatier chef’s knife — and it had definitely seen better days! 😬

Quite a few chips along the edge were affecting the knife’s overall performance, so it was time for a little sharpening therapy. 🔪

After a few passes on the Tormek T-8, the edge was restored to the factory 20° per side. A final honing on the kangaroo-tail leather strop and it was slicing Tally-O paper effortlessly. 👌

I’d MUCH rather sharpen a knife than a pair of scissors! 🔪😂

Scissors are a completely different beast. More variables, more fiddling, more things that can go wrong… and considerably more opportunity to turn a perfectly good pair of scissors into an expensive paperweight! 😬✂️🤣

BUT… when you get it right, they come up bloody awesome! 👌🔥

The Tormek T-8 with the Silicon Carbide Blackstone wheel produces a beautiful bevel and, while it takes a little more time and patience, the results are absolutely worth the effort.

Which means, of course, that after posting this…I’ll probably be INUNDATED with scissors for the next fortnight. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Bright skies, a cool breeze and, as always, some wonderful customers. 🙌

🩹 And THIS is why every freshly sharpened package gets a FREE Band-Aid! 😂

Sure, it might be a bit of a gimmick… BUT it turns out it came in pretty handy for Gianna today! 🤣

Gianna was absolutely thrilled with her freshly sharpened razor-sharp knives, secateurs & pruning lopper — unfortunately, one finger got a little too interested in just how sharp that lopper really was! 😬✂️

Thankfully, the PMSS emergency Band-Aid was on hand! 🩹😂

All is well, the finger is patched up, and Gianna is back in the garden and doing what she does best! 🌿🌺

Remember folks… if I sharpen it, respect it! 😜

🔪 LOVE seeing PMSS knives hard at work! 👌

Ryan, a repeat customer, sent me these photos this morning of his freshly sharpened Victorinox knives back in action.

These knives are the workhorses of this particular commercial kitchen — and they get the PMSS treatment every fortnight. 💪🔪
