Presented by the Great Southern Reef Foundation, this special exhibition celebrates South Australia’s extraordinary marine life, coastal environments, and the stories of people connected to the Great Southern Reef.
Following a statewide call-out over summer, nearly 200 photographers, artists, divers, snorkellers, and ocean lovers submitted works capturing the beauty, resilience, and changing conditions of our coastline. This opening night event brings together a curated selection of award-winning and selected works from across South Australia.

Surrounded by 50-year-old shiraz vines, Kimbolton’s cellar door of stacked shipping containers looks like the remnants of a giant game of Jenga. It’s the ideal spot to try the cabernet and malbec the region is known for, as well as montepulciano that appears as a Provencal-style rosé, dry red and sparkling wine.

You need to drive through the Adelaide Hills to reach this compact region nestled beside the Bremer River (curiously, there is no Langhorne Creek). Because it’s located in a floodplain, the vineyards are protected by a series of floodgates that allow growers to inundate them during floods. Some cellar doors even have footage of people kayaking and wakeboarding between vines that produce fruit notable both for its juiciness and a distinct earthiness. Visit when it’s not in flood and you can taste them in a quintessentially Australian setting beneath giant red gums that echo with the raucous chatter of galahs, rosellas and warbling magpies.

The winemaker’s favourite: Langhorne Creek
This region is littered with sixth-generation producers and has a winemaking history dating back to the 1850s. In that time, it’s been the engine room of some of Australia’s most famous brands, and Langhorne Creek fruit helped Wolf Blass win the Jimmy Watson Trophy (Australia’s most prestigious wine award) an unequalled three years running in the 1970s. And yet, Langhorne Creek is often overshadowed by its more famous neighbours.

The beauty of Budburst!🤩

There isn't a lot of greenery on our vines at the moment so, when it is there, it really pops!

These vineyards are our younger Verdelho vines. You can see them from the main road when driving down towards Wellington.
