We’re the two ICU nurses who bought a commercial apple orchard with no farming background and have created a tourism destination focused on providing amazing experiences. We’ve been featured on ABCs National News and Landline, we’ve been in a podcast and even done a live cross on Studio 10. We really understand people and our goal is always to make people happy. Our orchard does weddings, events,

educational tours and during apple season is open every weekend and throughout school holidays for pick your own apples.

What a weekend it’s been at our place..

We celebrated Father’s Day on Saturday as today is Daisy’s special day! We’ve had lots of food and lots of celebrating - just the way it should be right?!

Happy Birthday GM - she’s a force to be reckoned with our Daisy - an incredibly capable girl that we’re so proud of ❤️

And to the Father of the business and most importantly our very lucky girls - Chris, another incredibly capable human. Happy Father’s Day!

Me, our girls and our staff say - If Dad/Chris can’t fix it.. it’s completely effed. Plain and simple. 🫡

☀️ Not a cloud in the sky today..!

Today we had Tyson and Lucy (whom are brother and sister!) back to plant some more trees!

As you can see Chloe our German Shepherd also worked really hard… 🐾

This is PURE SATISFACTION horticulture style.. 🫠🤤

About a third of our orchard has been pruned (yes, we're behind!) - how much better do the trees look when they are pruned?

We're absolutely not doing it for aesthetics - but they do look better for sure.

🫪 Woah! 😧 Over 500 trees planted! 🌳This weekend was a busy but muddy weekend!

We had some of our staff, all three girls, Chloe and us planting out two new blocks this weekend.

Everyone worked incredibly hard, laughed incredibly hard at me stacking it down the hill and at times we had to listen to some incredibly absurd music 🎶 😂

Our two little two worked just as hard as everyone else, except maybe Lucy who with her cuteness conned Jayden for a lift back up the hill 😆🥰 They dug holes, walked up and down the hill, got very dirty and worked part of the team. And yes they got paid “dollar bucks”!

Burgers for lunch Saturday and fish and chips today with lots of lollies and cans of solo kept the motivation up! 👌🏻

Thankyou for all your hard work and sorry to your mums for the washing!

To say we are proud of the young people in our family business is an understatement. It’s so rewarding knowing they’ll be able to look at those blocks and say “I planted them!”. We wanted our staff to be apart of our business not just work for us - this is what it is about for us - they have actually 100% contributed to the orchard this weekend - they helped create two new blocks! 🥹

Never at my job when I was 16 could I get away with this level of ridiculousness 🤣

😂 This is how Jayden & Heath rocked up for work this morning - Jayden had texted me in the morning asking if he could ‘bring a speaker to play music whilst we are working’ and this is what he brings… 🫪

Don’t worry - all he could play was Emily approved music. Anyone who has known me for more than 36 seconds knows I will absolutely not listen to any music I don’t like. It’s a waste of my ears life. Today was no exception 😆

Today we had Heritage College Heritage at the orchard getting their hands dirty (well not really, they had gloves on..but!)

They learnt growing styles, pruning AND learnt the sole destroying task of transplanting trees 😩. They loved it.

We needed to move from trees a row over, so they learnt how to remove a tree and replant it in a commercial way. They all did a fantastic job, took so much care and were really proud of them selves. There wasn’t even any whinging - unheard of!

We’re thinking we might have to rename the block “The Heritage Block”

This visit today is part of our partnership with this incredible school. Together we are planting out a commercial style orchard at their school - the best bit, the students make all the decisions and are using just about every subject in the curriculum to make this happen!

Next up we head to the nursery to purchase the new trees and then plant them! Watch this space!

When you’re on holiday and your parents take you to 3 apple orchard’s interstate… when you live on one 😂🍎

We hit up Sherwood Park Orchard - Bunyip and Nightingales Alpine produce on our trip interstate a few months ago… because we do love Apple orchard’s after all - especially if they are someone else’s that we don’t have to do the work 😂😂😂

Honestly though, if you need a good bite to eat and you’re travelling out of Melbourne, pop into Sherwood Park Orchard - Bunyip and if you’re heading back down the mountain in Bright from the snow in Hotham head to Nightingale Bros - they’ve got a great playground and a great shop!

We’ve never been more excited to go BACK TO SCHOOL! 🏫

We’re so excited to officially announce our partnership with Heritage College Heritage College 🍎🌱

Heritage came to one of our Business & Innovation excursions this season which set off a light bulb moment for Evan, the Deputy Principal 💡

We were having a chat about our unique story and it became clear that just about every subject at school is needed in some way to run a farm. From STEM to business to resilience to English - it’s all required (trust us!) so..

Together, we have created a program that the entire school and just about every subject can use to learn from.

We are planting an orchard from scratch at their school.

This orchard will become part of Hertitage’s legacy and used for decades to come. We will be guiding the students so that they can get the real world experience of doing everything from measuring to pruning, weeding to selling! What an incredible opportunity for the students. They are a lucky bunch, having teachers that are willing to think outside of the box to provide a unique and realistic learning environment!

Today the students gave us a tour and showed us some potential sites, we discussed things from growing styles, trellis, soil sampling to what we were going to do with the fruit when we harvest it..

Next up, the students will visit our farm to see a commercial orchard, see our new trees, learn how to prune and look at the growing styles.

It honestly blows our minds that two nurses who bought a farm with absolutely no experience are now helping educate the next generation. We never imagined our INSANE (literal) tree change would lead us here. This is a huge part of the partnership - to show the students that anything can be achieved if you have grit, think outside of the box, problem solve and if you fail.. try another way. The only thing you need to be the best at is.. trying.

Watch this space.. saying we are excited is an understatement.

Do kangaroos cause us issues?

Not sure if you’ve noticed but there are A LOT of Roos around at the moment!

We get asked a lot - do they cause you any issues?

Our usual response is “not really”, however, you can see here that they’ve decided to have a munch on our trees.

These trees are our Gala trees and they’re mature trees - they should be able to hack it, but the trees certainly don’t appreciate it, and neither do we! Where we do have to keep a really close eye on is our new trees we planted last winter..

And don’t be alarmed by how the trees look - they’re not dead, they’re dormant - this is what they look like in winter! 🥶
