Time for a quick catch up!
We competed at Kondari (Harvey Bay) on 14th. It was sooo hot, at times it felt like we could cook on the bench😅.
We had a pretty good cook though and got a few call outs in the results! We struggled with chicken and pork ribs, having some big issues with the product. Even with the issues we were still able to hand in a reasonable box, and got mid pack scores. Lamb came up well and we finally got the lamb ribs right.
A big thanks to Darren Hamblin and the Poll Wagyu group for booking us up with some amazing MB9 island Wagyu Brisket. A small issue with a missing ingredient for the sauce cost us a few taste points and probably a trophy.
Results:
14th in Chicken
10th in Lamb
12th in Pork Ribs
8th in Brisket

8th place Overall!

Yummmmm!
After a long day we stopped by our local fruit shop to figure out what was for dinner. Pork cutlets definitely satisfied! Cooked on the Weber baby Q, topped with some chimichurri and some other green stuff on the side.

Impromptu pizza night after a “made” me buy this Baker Stone grill top pizza oven from the big red hammer (I was in the bbq aisle to buy citronella oil only I swear!). Worked really well am happy with how it turned out!

I really do love the KAON stainless side table and trivet tray packs. Got one for my Weber Barbecues Australia/New Zealand Family Q and Baby Q. Great thing about the popularity of the Webers is all the aftermarket gear you can get. Of course all new bbq gear needs a run so did roasted potatoes par boiled then roasted with oil and butter and a mini rump roast with whatever marinade was on it in the packet… (mustard?). Very definitely recommend par boiling potatoes it’s a game changer.
