Turns out the girls don’t just love their Kimchi. They’ll happily fight over it!

Raven Place makes the delicious ferments especially for the chickens, turning food scraps into something the girls absolutely go crazy for.

From kitchen scraps → to kimchi → to happy hens → to delicious eggs.

Now THAT’S a pretty great little farm-to-community circle.

A beautiful afternoon with the girls.

There’s something pretty special about slowing down and spending an afternoon with the chickens… especially when you’ve got a Maremma keeping a watchful eye over the whole crew.

A day behind the scenes.

What a fantastic day on the farm! We had the pleasure of spending the day with an amazing photographer, Rob from Rob Palmer capturing life here at Limpinwood Layers.

There were plenty of curious chickens, sunshine, laughter and more than a few crazy chicken moments.

We can’t wait to see the magic that was captured and share it with you.

A huge thank you to Rob for making it such a fun day.

POV: you’ve been waiting all morning for a male to notice you.
Why is she squatting?
It’s actually perfectly normal chicken behaviour!

It’s her natural mating position and makes it easier for the rooster to do what roosters do.

Anyone missing this adorable pair? They were found on Youngs Road just now. No collars

Tomorrow we’re hiding ONE carton of naturally pink shelled pasture-raised eggs among all our cartons at the market.
Same delicious eggs from our happy hens—just with a shell colour that’s a little extra special. We don’t get many of these rare beauties so to make a whole carton is worth celebrating.

If you spot the pink carton first… it’s yours, absolutely FREE!

Will you be the lucky one to find it?
See you at the Cooly tomorrow morning 7-11am.
