โจ Halawet El Jibn โจ
A seriously delicious sweet cheese dessert, will literally leave you licking your fingers ๐
My kids love to eat this straight off the table without any toppings, that's how delicious it is ๐ Make sure to get yourself Tarek Abdel Rahim El Wazzi Creamery - Sweets delicious ashta, authentic and made fresh daily, it's going to just elevate your desserts to another level ๐
Recipe :
550 gr sweet cheese (found at an arab grocer)*
150gr Mozarella ball without salt
3/4 cup water
3-4 cup milk
1 tbsp sugar
1.5 to 2 cups fine semolina
1/4 cup rose water
1. Spread 1 cup sugar syrup (ater) onto table
2. Shred cheese
3. Place milk, water, sugar into pot, stir then add cheese
4. Mix until cheese is smooth and no longer lumpy, should take 5mins
5. Dump in 1.5 cups fine semolina and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon, as the semolina with make the sweet cheese hold into a dough you might need extra semolina
6. It shouldn't be too hard or difficult to stretch. Once its nice and smooth, add rose water and stir for 20 seconds or till absorbed then turn off the heat
7. Quickly dump dough onto the table ontop of sugar syrup and using your hands quickly spread out the cheese dough as thinly as possible, about 2 to 3mm in thickness
8. once cooled rip apart into smaller pieces, plate and top with Tarek Abdel Rahim El Wazzi Creamery - Sweets ashta, most authentic and delicious ashta made fresh at the factory
9. sprinkle pistachios and drizzle with extra ater
10. Store in the fridge until you're ready to serve, a few hours is perfect

* If you do not have sweet cheese available in your area, I recommend the white mozarella balls you can find at the deli, if salted just soak in water for 20mins to remove the salt, same goes with the shredded mozarella.
