Well, well, well..
Look what we have here 👀

I submitted our products for the professional baking division at the Royal Adelaide Show. I'm not gonna lie, I was not expecting anything. But to receive this type of recognition is an absolute honor, especially having our vegan products going up against some of the best in Adelaide.

Perhaps the past 5 years of long days, sleepless nights, and all the blood, sweat, and tears are worth it. I couldn't be here without my team of amazing ladies at the bakery 🫶🏻

An apology for taking so long to bring you new products. But here we are!
🍒 Black Forest croissant tart:
Pastry, chocolate custard, chocolate coffee cake, cherry coffee syrup, Morello cherries, and vanilla cream
🍊 Blood orange danish:
Pastry, vanilla custard, roasted blood orange, blood orange caramel, sugar pearls
🍋‍🟩 Chilli chocolate lime scroll:
Pastry, chocolate chill paste, chilli and lime syrup, chilli salt flakes, and chocolate ganache

See them in your nearest stockist, which I will post an update for you shortly.
Otherwise an update will be made on hungry hungry store, and soon our square shop which will go live soon 🫶🏻

AND NOW WE REST 💤

We have absolutely nothing left in the bakery.. we didn't even have enough for our wholesale stockists 😶‍🌫️
Apologies to anyone wanting a sweet treat on Tuesday, but unfortunately you will have to wait.

I was meant to post this last week, but boy was it a doozy week. 17 hour day last Saturday was a push 😵‍💫

We have a power upgrade happening, plus one of our bakers is going on holidays. PLUS, it's my birthday 🫣
So it just made sense to close. There is a but here..

If we have excess stock, we will open Tuesday morning for retail (what else to do for your school holidays right?). I will let you know once the week is done. With our power being turned off I'd rather not lose anything. But a winwin situation for you!

We also have some changes coming into play when we return on the 20th, which I hope allows more opportunity for Clara Cakes to finally get out to do some weekend pop ups away from the shop. No more Saturday production, just weekdays for wholesale. This does mean no retail pick ups Saturday unless I decide to do a retail day at the shop.

But for now, just give me a moment, it's been a hard couple weeks. I need a breather, and a w**e or 2 😶‍🌫️

Biscoff cookie cake, studded with biscoff and raspberries. Made for our baker who finished up with us on Saturday 💔

This got me thinking though, for something different than the usual cake for your celebration.
Cookie cakes, brownie cake, mille fuielle, croissant style paris brest..
More patisserie, less bakery.

I just have a couple questions..
How is it June already?
Why haven't I released any new pastry yet?
Will someone tell me when that dot cake trend is up? It's literally just cake, and sprinkles.

We have some slightly large changes coming in July, which may throw a spanner into the works. But it's honestly a good change and for the better. Will keep you posted about these soon 🫶🏻

AN UPDATE FROM ME 🩷

We haven't been open the last couple of Saturdays..
Here's why.

My small team of lovely ladies and myself have been working too hard and dealing with burn out, sickness, injuries, and mental health issues.
This means there will be some pivoting moves made to keep the wheels turning in this little bakery. This will mean changes in and around the bakery and our processes.

This is NOT a closing post. But with today's economy, it's vital that you, our customers, keep supporting your local business owners. Watching our numbers slowly dwindling is scary to see week by week.

After a week of overnights and chaos, it was a pleasure to make this cake for a baby shower on Saturday.
Inside was vanilla cake, lemon curd filling, and vanilla buttercream, with accents of pinks and peaches 🩷🍑
