Reflecting on a good spring 🌱🐑

Last spring set us up well — plenty of feed, strong lamb growth and ewes coming through in excellent condition. That foundation really shows its value now.

While it’s currently dry, the ewes are holding their condition, which is exactly what we aim for. Good management through the flush and summer pays dividends when the season tightens. Body condition going into autumn is critical — not just for joining outcomes, but for overall flock resilience.

Now we look ahead to the autumn break in April with optimism. 🌦️ A steady opening rain will kick things along again, but it’s reassuring to know the flock is well prepared.

Seasonal variability is part of farming — planning ahead and building condition when you can makes all the difference.

Here’s hoping for a kind autumn.

🐑Ram Sale Wrap-Up 🐑

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our sale — both our loyal clients and the new faces who joined us this year. We were lucky to have some beautiful weather and a great crowd on the day!

Our top-priced White Suffolk, Lot 4, sold for $2,100 to Peter Harris of Nhill, with the White Suffolk team averaging $1,437.
The Ile de France rams topped at $1,800, with Lot 80 going to Peter Waters, and averaged $1,231 across the draft.

We finished with a strong clearance and are really pleased with the overall result.

A massive thanks to our family and friends for helping set up and supporting us through what’s been a pretty challenging 18 months — we couldn’t do it without you! 💚

Thanks also to agents Bryn Weaver and Ben Jones and the team at O'Connor & Graney Pty Ltd for running the day, and to auctioneer Matt Treglown and the TDC staff for their help.
