I'm feeling so deflated!

Maitland, Cessnock and Singleton Council have put out their u-bute joint Anambah to Branxton Structure Plan, without any initial consultation with land owners and they seem to think they are going to build medium density housing on every square inch of our 25 acres of farming land!

No discussion, No asking us or any of our neighbours, what we want to do with the land that we have paid our hard-earned cash and literally blood, sweat and tears to own!

If anyone votes for the current Mayor in the next election, your a bloody idiot!

50 years of my life spent in the beautiful Hunter Valley just to watch it all go down the drain in the last few years with duplex houses to hills.

We will fight to keep this land as long as we can but eventually the rates will force us off. That's how they get you! They rezone you against your will, then say your living on a 100 housing blocks and jack up your rates so you cant afford to stay.

I said when bought this place, "this is the last move, you can take me out in a pine box" now ill say, "It's either a Pine Box or handcuffs - which ever comes first"

Keep your grubby developer mitts off our soil!!

Our girls love firewood day!

They free range everyday, pasture forage every other day, but days like this are a special treat.

Lots of bugs and worms hiding under the old timber and they are happy doing what they were born to do!

I love that we can grab dinner from the garden. Fresh vege to go with our Munni Farm steaks and homemade Margin's Mushrooms creamy sauce. Doesn’t get much better.
It’s a funny old season.. never thought I’d be picking zucchini in July but I’m not complaining!

Another productive weekend working on regenerating our riparian space.
Around 100 plants found their way into the perfectly moistened soil. A mix of local native trees, shrubs and erosion control.
Some of the trees were gifted by Hunter Local Land Services at the recent Tocal Field Days. Some provided by Maitland City Council under a landholder tree planting program and the rest purchased by us. Can’t wait to see them grow and provide habitat in the future.
