I'm feeling so deflated!
Maitland, Cessnock and Singleton Council have put out their u-bute joint Anambah to Branxton Structure Plan, without any initial consultation with land owners and they seem to think they are going to build medium density housing on every square inch of our 25 acres of farming land!
No discussion, No asking us or any of our neighbours, what we want to do with the land that we have paid our hard-earned cash and literally blood, sweat and tears to own!
If anyone votes for the current Mayor in the next election, your a bloody idiot!
50 years of my life spent in the beautiful Hunter Valley just to watch it all go down the drain in the last few years with duplex houses to hills.
We will fight to keep this land as long as we can but eventually the rates will force us off. That's how they get you! They rezone you against your will, then say your living on a 100 housing blocks and jack up your rates so you cant afford to stay.
I said when bought this place, "this is the last move, you can take me out in a pine box" now ill say, "It's either a Pine Box or handcuffs - which ever comes first"
Keep your grubby developer mitts off our soil!!
