Rain Falls | Markets Rise | Supply Tightens

Markets continue to fire. Significant falls across the broader eastern seaboard in the past fortnight has breathed new levels of confidence and optimism into the market. Couple that with shortened supply, southern buying competition in the north and the fact that the supply chain can simply handle more cattle has all combined to drive this rally.

What does stand out, is the substantial levels of price volatility we’ve seen in the past 8 weeks. Take Queensland feeder steers for example, they’ve moved $1/kg liveweight either way or a change of 20% in that space of time.

Looking ahead, any further falls (more rain forecast next week) will likely add to this dynamic.

We are all enjoying a glorious 65mm of rain this week. With our May total now above 120mm everyone feels relieved as we overcome the extremely dry start to 2026. We hope everyone has had enough.

We love this ‘old school’ body capacity, skin & look in this yearling. We believe the skin & hair type provides great insight to the meat quality. This is evident in this bulls ultrasound ratios of 111 IMF, 128 Rib Fat and 111 EMA. A full brother sold for $28,000 in 2025 and his dam has a number of quality sons for 2026. Predictable & Proven!
