Melbourne Cup is not that far away, so grab your best hats out 👒 🎩 and come to Shindys to watch THE RACE THAT STOPS THE NATION, have a few cold ones, join in or have a few laughs at the THE SHINDYS CUP, a bit of chicken 🍗, salad 🥗 and a few bubbles 🍾 for lunch ( please book ahead for catering purposes) and get your name in a few sweeps 💰

My Nomad Angels and I cheering Scott Fight The Current on as he arrived at Trilby for a lunch break. We are having a changing of the guard this week. Marilyn, Vossy, Helen and Glenn are moving on and Karen, Terry, Gaye and Sandra will be taking their place. Don’t know how I’d manage without their helping hands!

Scott of Fight The Current pulled up here for a quick lunch break on today’s 15km or so swim down the Darling River. I think that ticks off around 450km - so about 1,250 to go!! What an effort!! You can donate to MBD and Parkinson’s from his page.

Scott Gladman and his crew are staying with us here at the station for a few days as he swims the entire 1650 km length of the Darling River!! Today Scott plans to swim past Dunlop to the weir, maybe a bit further.. so we should see him swimming past our river campsites in a couple of days. Mammoth effort in support on MND and Parkinson’s - you donate to this cause (and a bloody good effort on a low river by Scott and his team) on his page at fight the current. We’ll see you around the campfire for a drink later this arvo.

What a lovely surprise on the mail truck this week … the gift of a red Canna from an Outback Beds Tours guest! I’ll do my best to have it thrive Kathy and Carl, and loved meeting you both on Bill’s tour a couple of weeks ago.
