Freshest and healthiest veggies out. Organic, permaculture approach. And best thing is, they’re a local Elliott family, raising their three beautiful girls the best way for man - outdoors with homegrown food and learning quality life skills everyday. Give them a go if you see them about @ The Wynyard Foreshore Market, the Stanley Market and the Fridge on Hicks on Mount Hicks Rd (near the old Yolla Shop). Itty bitty Rhode Island Red x Barnevelders. Our personal flock of 3 hens (for eggos) and a rooster (to protect the hens).

MRS. went broody and, being my favourite little pal, I let her sit. She was joined (yes, in the same nest box AKA the dog kennel🤦🏼‍♀️) by Patty & Selma, 1 & 2 weeks later, who both added more eggs, sat for a week or so and took MRS’ chicks once they hatched. MRS. did not fret, she simply sat for longer and hatched their eggs for them, like a determined Mama Hen.

100% hatch rate, 2 lost chicks due to ol mate Randy, who is quite the sweetheart, but clumsy around such teeny fluff balls.
I wonder if the ladies will blame him for the fact that they’re now protected by some netting, instead of free range. 🐣 🐓
