🌺 KIA ORANA EVERYONE! 🌺

Who remembers growing up with Mum or Dad making good old-fashioned coconut bread? 🥥🍞❤️

And you know what? It tastes even better a day or two later, toasted with some real Western Star butter, strawberry jam and a nice hot cup of Milo! 😋☕

My dad absolutely loved making coconut bread for our family. ❤️ My brother made us some a few days ago, and here I am still enjoying it! 😂🥰

Nothing beats those childhood memories and the simple taste of home. 🌴❤️

✈️🌺 A little update from Island TYM!

Part of our Island TYM team is heading home to the Cook Islands next week! 🇨🇰🌴

We delivered our last supply of goodies to Pacific Mart yesterday, and Island TYM will be taking a little three-week break.

Hopefully, by the time we get back, you'll all be craving some of our yummy Banana Poke, Cook Islands Mynaise and Tuna Raw Fish — our signature Island TYM favourites! 😋🥥🐟

And who knows? While we're back home, we might just pick up a few more tips and secrets from our Mamas in the Cook Islands, where these beautiful dishes come from. ❤️🌺

After all, these dishes are from home, and we're going home! 🇨🇰🥹❤️ There's always something more to learn from the people who have been making them for generations, and we'd love to bring some of that knowledge back to make our dishes even better!

So don't worry, we'll be back to satisfy those Island food cravings! 😂❤️🌴

🌺 KIA ORANA EVERYONE! 🌺

We honestly don’t know where to begin except to say MEITAKI MA’ATA! ❤️🙏🏽

Yesterday could have turned into a very difficult day for Island TYM. After having to cancel our attendance at the rugby event because of the weather and strong winds, we were left with a huge amount of food and supplies that we had already purchased and prepared.

But then our community showed up. ❤️

The last-minute support was incredible. People pre-ordered, messaged us, shared our posts, tagged their friends and family, and some simply turned up and placed orders. We even had people we don’t personally know sharing our posts and helping us get the word out.

And because of you all, we sold most of our food! 🙌🏽🥹

Even in the pouring rain, our little Island TYM team had fun — telling customers, “Stay in your car, stay dry, we’ll bring it out to you!” 😂☔ Then off someone would run through the rain with another order!

It was hard work, but it turned into such a fun and rewarding day. We even received enquiries about possible future catering, which we are incredibly grateful for. ❤️

We also want to thank Pacific Mart for allowing us to bring some of our food down last minute to the store and giving us another opportunity to recover some of what we had invested.

And although we couldn’t attend the
Pakenham Eels Rugby League event, we are still very grateful for the opportunity we were given.

One of the most humbling things yesterday was seeing so many other vendors affected by cancelled events doing exactly what we were doing — hustling, posting, sharing and trying to recover what they had spent. Then seeing communities rally around them and hearing that many had sold out was beautiful. ❤️

Small businesses put so much behind the scenes into preparing for these events, so seeing everyone sharing each other’s posts and supporting one another was something special.

We’ve only got a little food left now — looks like the Island TYM team has dinner sorted for the next couple of days! 😂❤️

Yesterday reminded us just how powerful community support can be.

Unfortunately, due to the strong winds and weather forecast for tomorrow, Island TYM has made the difficult decision not to attend the event as planned. With our marquee, warmers and electrical equipment, we need to keep our team and equipment safe. ❤️

However… the food has already been purchased and the cooking is still going ahead! 🙌🏽

This event was also an important little fundraiser for our Island TYM team, with part of our team heading to the Cook Islands in a couple of weeks for a special event. 🌴✈️

So we’re reaching out to our beautiful community — would anyone like to place an order for tomorrow? ❤️ Your order would genuinely go a long way in supporting us and helping make sure the food we’ve already purchased doesn’t go to waste.
