Hemera Estate’s 2026 reds have been resting in barrel for a couple of months now, which means it’s time for a top up. As a small amount of wine naturally evaporates through the oak, each barrel is topped up to keep the wine protected while it continues to mature.
Our winemaker, Russell is also pulling samples to make sure the wine has gone through malolactic fermentation; an important step that helps create the smooth, rounded reds you’ll enjoy in the glass.
Drop into our Cellar Door to taste the wines ready to enjoy now while the 2026 vintage patiently develops in barrel. You can also give us a call or shop online and have your favourites delivered straight to your door.

It has been a short and sharp vintage at Hemera this year with the first grapes harvested for rosé on the 4th of March with the last grapes Cabernet Franc harvested just before midnight last night 27 March. It concludes a long day of 13 hours of harvesting. Overall we are extremely pleased at the quality of the fruit and the resultant wines that we have pressed to barrel with intense, deep colours, great flavour and intensity and structured fruit tannins. Well done to our small crew of Russell and Heath that got the job done! Now the focus is on getting the fermenters dry and wines pressed off to barrel. Look out for the 2026 wines in the coming years.
