It's my favourite wine and I cant find anything like it...

So for context i'm on a cruise ship right now, and I was allowed to take just one bottle of wine for a whole week.

I could have taken any bottle...

Guess what I took? 🍷

Deer Stalker Shiraz of course...
(wrangled out of the wine club stock πŸ€ͺ)

If anyone else is with me, let me know so I'm not wallowing alone... Lol? 🀣

🀍 Last Friday we had the absolute privilege of celebrating the wedding of Mr & Mrs Mattner in our Marquee… and what a magical day it was. 🀍

Not only was this the very first wedding held in the space, but Kies Family Wines already held such a special place in their story.

The couple got engaged amongst the barrels in our Barrel Hall, so to then celebrate their wedding day here as well truly made things feel full circle. ✨

There is something incredibly special about watching people create memories at our family winery, from proposals, to weddings, to anniversaries and everything in between.

We absolutely loved having you both.

And honestly… isn’t the bride just stunning? 😍

Congratulations again Mr & Mrs Mattner. Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a beautiful chapter in your story. 🀍

Well you guys are so kind to have voted for me... Thank you so much πŸ™β€οΈ

Last night I was awarded Event Manager of the Year, for our Gather in the Barossa events and really I can't even believe it. πŸ™

I'm so grateful to you guys for so many things....
..For helping me with advice and feedback in the lead up to Gather Round - it's not every day an AFL oval is built across the road and it was so helpful to understand what everyone needed from us at that time...
..For getting behind us - I know the oval is controversial. I get it, but as I saw it we had 2 choices, close due to road closures or go all in, and just the early ticket sales helped me sleep at night to be honest so thanks for getting behind us, even as we were still figuring it all out...
..For the people I work with. You know how sometimes the universe just sends you the right people at the right time, well our team are full of them. Honestly I am having a tear thinking about all the hard work from so many people who helped us to pull this off.

A huge thanks to my partner in crime Nat Munns, for accommodating my "Now, hear me out" conversations, for her neat writing and organised spreadsheets and for working so so so hard to get this off the ground. An amazing human being - so grateful beyond words! πŸ™β€οΈ

And I would like to dedicate this award to my beautiful parents...

I remember standing outside trying to imagine what Gather Round would look like at our place, and panicking as the invoices were piling up.

Worrying that people would just park at our place and walk across the road.

And my Dad put his hand on my shoulder and said "Act boldly and unforeseen forces will come to your aid"... I didn't believe him at the time, but he was right... Again! 🀣

Dad spent the weekend driving around and getting extra food and drinks when we ran out. Mum ran all the high teas in the barrel hall - just a massive support πŸ™ ❀️

They have worked so hard their entire lives, always zigging when everyone else is zagging and I am so grateful for their entrepreneurial spirit, which I hope I can carry onto my kids as they grow.

Anyways I'm rambling again - and I'm sure I've missed people but thanks for all the support guys! Appreciate all of you πŸ™β€οΈ

Just standing in the Dedication room, listening to the beautiful rain, and admiring the incredible pieces of art we are displaying from now until the end of the SALA Festival this year πŸ€—

All I need now is a glass of Chaff Mill, it is Friday after all πŸ·πŸ™

This one piece really resonates with me...

It's called "Dreamtime Sisters" by artist Colleen Wallace Nungurrayi, which tells the story of spirits watching over important areas of land and the people who care for them. I personally feel that on so many levels.

It really took my breath away - it's just so magical and intricate close up! 😍

You have to come and see the whole exhibition sourced by Michele and Pat from Corroboree Dream Art, from artists they have worked with all over Australia for the past 38 years.

Come down on a cool day when it's cosy inside, grab a glass of red and spend some time amongst these masterpieces.

You will love it... I promise πŸ™β€οΈπŸ·

So in the lead up to Mother's Day I had trouble finding something that was right for my family...

See I have two young kids so needless to say, a fancy restaurant wasn't going to work...
.. I didn't want to spend my full weeks wage on a lunch for my multigenerational family with a set menu...
.. So a customer contacted me asking if we had any events on Mother's Day and I said no initially but then I thought about it...
.. What if we ran something easy for the whole family..... Something that is casual so families could stay all day or for an hour..... Something that doesn't cost the earth in these hard times...

So I went back to our customer and she was so gracious with her time over messenger chat, as I ran all my ideas past her.

See she is a Mum too and it turned out she had the same issues I had in the lead up to Mother's Day...
..so on the back of that, I put together a relaxed, Mother's Day Picnic...
.. Think live music in the marquee, beautiful cocktails and only the best wines (Kies of course 🀣)
... Think a beautifully decorated High Tea Picnic Box for adults and kids...
.. Think Mimosas on arrival and deck chairs on the lawn, or a spot in the Marquee...

Being the first time we held it, I wasn't sure if it was going to be popular, but the cafe was already booked out so I thought, why not give it a go? 🀷

We launched it about two weeks ago and literally it sold out in 5 days! 😭πŸ₯°

Today there are 110 people on the waiting list 😱

And sitting in the Marquee now with a coffee, I can't help but think...

How special it is that families will make memories at our place this Mother's Day... (Without mum and dad stressing if their child touches a window - I've been there πŸ˜₯)

How Mum's will actually relax with a Mimosa and some live music...πŸ’•

How the place will be full of people of all ages, young and old, and maybe some fur family members as well... πŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί

And how honoured I am to be able to be part of that for the beautiful families that are booked in...

Wishing you all a magical Mother's Day weekend and cheers to all the Mum's out there - you all deserve a nice, relaxing day πŸ’πŸ₯‚

😭😭😭😭😭So grateful to every single one of you for your support πŸ™
