Is it really too much to ask someone to not light up a ciggie beside you at the jetty?
In Queensland, smoking and va**ng are strictly banned in all enclosed public places and many outdoor areas under state-wide rules managed by the Queensland Government.
Indoor Public Places
Smoking is illegal inside public buildings and shared indoor spaces, including:
Shopping centres and supermarkets, Pubs, clubs, restaurants, and cafes, Offices, banks, and indoor workplaces
Public transport like trains, buses, and ferriesOutdoor Public AreasYou cannot smoke in several common outdoor zones, including:
Public transport stops:
Within 5 metres of bus stops, taxi ranks, and ferry terminals.
Building entrances: Within 5 metres of non-residential building entryways (like shops and offices).
Eating and drinking areas: Outdoor dining and drinking spaces, unless in a strictly controlled, separate smoking area.
Parks and recreation:
Within 10 metres of children's playground equipment, public barbecues, and picnic tables in national parks.
Sporting events:
At or within 10 metres of organised under-18 sporting events and skate parks.
