JUNIOR TEAM MEMBERS WANTED!

We’re getting ready for the busy Christmas season and are looking for 1 or 2 energetic Juniors to join the team!

We’re looking for those with a can-do attitude, are reliable, fast learners and happy to jump in and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

⏰ Hours:
• Available between 3–5pm, Tuesday to Friday
• Some Saturdays when required
• Minimum 2 shifts per week, up to 4 shifts as required.

🐟 What you’ll be doing:
Cleaning, product packing, refilling stock, keeping things organised and moving - plus customer service for those who enjoy being out the front.

And here’s the good bit… we’re happy to split this into TWO positions!

📦 THE DOER: Prefer working behind the scenes? Packing, cleaning, restocking and getting things done might be your thing.
- OR -
🙋 THE PEOPLE PERSON: Love talking to people? You might be better suited to helping customers and keeping things running out the front.

Or if you’re happy doing a bit of everything, even better! You can take all of the shifts :)

This is a great opportunity to earn some money, learn new skills and get some work experience with a busy local business heading into our biggest time of year.

Happy Father’s Day to our main fisherman 🐟🎣

While many dads spent today with their families, Mark is at sea - making the most of the weather window and doing what he’s done for so many years.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time, hard work and sacrifice that goes into bringing his catch home, not only for our family and Malanda Seafood, but for our local community to enjoy.

And a special Father's Day shout-out to our prawn fisherman David, on FV Nola R and all of our other fishers and suppliers who are also spending today at sea, away from their families, doing the same. We appreciate you too.

Something a little different for our post 📫

We know that our customers here at Malanda Seafood are making good & informed decisions when they are shopping locally for their seafood. Supporting Australian fishers and well managed fisheries.

But seafood consumers all around Australia are continually having their access to local seafood eroded by green groups funded by donations not science.

This then pushes reliance on more imported seafood, is the goal to go from the current 65% imported to a figure even higher?

How can industry combat the unregulated misinformation? We simply don't have the donations to fund a similar campaign??

Our socials were quiet this week while Karen was busy working outside the shop with the Queensland Seafood Industry Association team & Queensland Catch for this terrific event.

But the shop always remains busy providing you all with our amazing range of local wildcaught seafood 🙌 Thank you 😊

Staff Arielle worked today for our open Monday's (after her holiday in Madagasgar ✈️) and saw we had Jewel in stock, so making a change from her go-to Barra or Spanish Mackerel - that was her choice for a quick and easy dinner sorted tonight!

📸 Lightly floured and fried in butter - Jewel fish with smoky chilli sauce and lemon 🌶️🍋 Soooo good, I think jewel is one of my faves!
