Greg has decided to put his hand up and nominate for Division 1 Councillor for Tablelands Regional Council!
As a born-and-bred Malanda local, community has always been incredibly important to Greg. Having grown up in the Tablelands, he understands what makes our region such a special place to live, work and raise a family.
Greg is passionate about our local community and wants to play a role in helping our region continue to grow and thrive, while ensuring the voices of our residents are heard.
We’re excited to see him take this next step and look forward to what lies ahead.

For those who may not know me, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a little about my background.
My name is Greg English, and I am proud to call the Atherton Tablelands home.
My family’s connection to the Malanda district stretches back generations, with my ancestors among the pioneering families who helped establish the area. This history has given me a deep appreciation for our region, its people, its industries and the community spirit that makes the Tablelands such a special place to live.
Together with my wife, Bronwyn, and our seven children, we operate our family dairy farm, Eachamvale, where we milk approximately 300 cows. Like many farming families across our region, we understand the importance of hard work, resilience, sound decision-making and adapting to the challenges that come with running a family business.
Agriculture has been a significant part of my life, but so too has community involvement.
I have served in a range of leadership and volunteer positions over the years, including Federal Vice President of the Illawarra Cattle Society of Australia, Vice President of its Queensland Branch, and as a board member of our local AI Cooperative (for the local dairy & beef producers).
I am also the current President of the Malanda Show Society, an organisation that has been part of my family for generations. In 2026, I was honoured to receive Life Membership in recognition of my longstanding involvement and service.
Beyond these roles, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to our community in many different ways, including serving on a local school bus committee, supporting the All Breeds Educational Dairy Youth Camp, and welcoming local schoolchildren to our farm to learn about agriculture and where their food comes from.
I’ve also taken an active interest in matters affecting our local community, including the ongoing maintenance issues of our road infrastructure, and infrastructure improvements at the Malanda Showgrounds.
Through these experiences, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside volunteers, community groups, local businesses and people from all walks of life. They’ve reinforced my belief that strong communities are built by people working together, supporting one another and being willing to contribute.
As a candidate for Division 1 of the Tablelands Regional Council, I bring a lifetime of local knowledge, practical experience in business and agriculture, and many years of involvement in community organisations.

Over the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting with residents, listening to their concerns, hearing their ideas and sharing more about my background and experience.
The Tablelands has been home to my family for generations. It is where Bronwyn and I have raised our children, built our family business and contributed to our community.
It is a place I am incredibly proud to call home.
