MAYBE NEXT YEAR … 💜

Well, that’s a wrap on the great Johnsons’s flag bet.

The pole is up, the flag is staying down and Bill can breathe a sigh of relief! 😅

What a week it has been! From an old footy bet between Bill & Doc to making the news and having a whole lot of fun along the way.

A big thank you to everyone who followed along, shared, commented and joined in the banter.

We reckon Doc would have loved every minute of it!

Until next year… 😉

Well… the flagpole is officially back 😂

Flagpole: ✅
Nearly 30-year-old bet: still standing
One purple flag: pending… 💜⚓️

Adam’s got the pole sorted. Now we wait and see whether Bill has to make good on that bet with Doc

A bet’s a bet. 😬😂

We’re starting to get a little nervous at Johnson’s Food Services… 😬😂

Almost 30 years ago, Bill Johnson made what he thought was a very safe bet with the late Doc Ryan.

If the Fremantle Dockers ever won a premiership, Bill promised Doc he would fly a Dockers flag at Johnson’s Food Services.

The joke, of course, was that Bill was fairly confident he’d never actually have to do it. 😂

Well… almost 30 years later, that “safe bet” is suddenly looking a little less safe. 😬💜

There is one small problem — the old flagpole at Johnson’s has since been removed. But we happen to know a couple of Dockers-mad builders at Adams Brothers who we’re pretty sure would be only too happy to rectify that situation! 🔨😂

And if it comes to it, we may need Doc’s family to dig out his Dockers flag so we can honour the bet properly.

Surely the safe bet is still safe?! 😬💜⚓️
