FERMENTATION

The art of fermentation, a word derived from the Latin 'fervere', meaning "to boil".

They got that right to say the least.

Whether that be through food or human biology, just like pickles, we do come out the otherside (or jar) a little more spicier, with extra crunch 'aka' sass and a stronger sense of self preservation.

Fermenting for me has opened up a jar of clarity (the fog has cleared), the value of nuturing your boundaries and yourself, is liberating!

I've always been a slower fermenter, you could say 'pickle pleaser', not anymore. My fermentation has gifted me a pantry full of ingredients and my 'Best Before' date hasn't expired, it's been renewed.

So remember to rellish in that fermenting goodness when you finally open that jar and see what's in front of you...cherish and embrace all that flavour.

Life really does start to taste a hell of alot better when you're true to YOU ♡

SLOW THE FLOW

You might be reading this and think, meh...that wife ain't slowing down. Well, you'd be right to a point, I'm still a mad pickler but things have shifted.

For many years I felt the pressure to meet our brands 'supply and demand' and that I had to take up many of the new business enquiries coming in for our small batch brand to gain recognition and grow successfully.

How wrong was I.

I was under the grand food illusion that distributing our range of products into those 'bigger stores' was our measure of success.

Bigger isn't always better.

That business plan wasn't sustainable on so many levels, especially when you're a small batch soul trader. I can assure you, those 'bigger stores' work very differently to our smaller outlets and something had to give.

I had to 'SLOW THE FLOW' and the benefits to adjusting my whole perspective on that 'supply and demand' were enormous!

Never underestimate the value in looking after your established local stockists who have a direct relationship with customers and community...the 'grassroots' to your small business.

They genuinely love and promote your brands products and understand the value in supporting other local small businesses.

I adore the friendships that have grown over the years and the shared respect for our business collaboration, you can't put a price on that.

I'm feeling so much more at peace with saying 'NO', I have nothing to prove. I know we have a great brand, wonderful stockists and pickle lovers everywhere, but most importantly, I don't have to be everywhere to define success.

Product placement is key and for me, that's never compromising our loyal stockists. Being mindful in preserving where our brand sits on the shelf and continuing a steady, reliable and sustainable business model moving forward isn't just smart business, it's ensuring our brand survives.

LUNCH INSPO

Serve me up a good bowl of veg any day with roast pumpkin and I'm one happy wife.

And topping off all that healthy goodness, a good scattering of our Dukkah and you've got what I think is a delicious and nutritious lunch bowl combo.

Dukkah really does add that extra crunch and finishes off so many dishes with a aromatic flavour bomb!

LiTTLE PiCKLE Strawberry Chilli Relish 106g

A vibrantly sweet and sticky relish with a kick of chilli that elevates simple snacks, like a good brie and goats cheese, to grilled meats and crispy bacon, to something deliciously moorish.

My personal fave...adding spoonfuls to grilled chicken or a dollop with your fish tacos 🌮
