Most people only see the strawberries at harvest time, but this is where every season really begins 🍓
With the current season wrapping up, new plants are already being carefully planted for the next crop.
Rows are rebuilt, irrigation is checked, soil is prepared, and the whole process starts again! 🌱

A little behind the scenes for you all🌱 🍓

The tunnels are going up! These metal poles might not look like much yet, but they’re a big part of what protects our berries and helps us bring you beautiful, sweet fruit.

Lots of work happening behind the scenes, but it means better strawberries for you!

🐣🍓Easter on the Farm🍓🐣

We hope everyone who celebrated had a beautiful Easter weekend filled with Jesus , love, and good food ✝️❤️

It’s been slightly gloomy on here on the farm, but the berries are still sweet as ever 🍓
There’s something about the rows in this kind of weather

Thank you for being part of it with us ❤️

🍓Strawberry Tunnels Explained 🍓

Strawberry tunnels are protective structures used by farmers to grow strawberries in a more controlled environment. Instead of being fully exposed to the weather, strawberries are grown under long, curved covers made from plastic sheets stretched over a frame.

🌱Why are they used?
Strawberry tunnels help protect crops from rain, wind, pests and extreme temperatures. This means fewer damaged fruits and a longer growing season— so strawberries can be available earlier and later in the year.

☀️Better growing conditions
Inside the tunnel, temperatures are warmer and more stable, which encourages faster plant growth and sweeter, higher-quality fruit. Farmers can also better control watering and reduce disease caused by excess moisture.

🍓Cleaner, better fruit
Because the strawberries aren’t directly exposed to soil splashes from rain, they trend to be cleaner, brighter and less prone to rot.

✨In short: strawberry tunnels help farmers grow better strawberries, more efficiently, while protecting both the fruit and the harvest.

🎶Whoa Black Betty… bam-ba-lam!🎶

Meet Blackberry🖤🚛

After a long haul all the way from Melbourne, Paul and Chris finally rolled into the farm today. We couldn’t be happier to see her pull through the gates.

Safe to say… she definitely made an entrance!

Our new strawberry truck has officially arrived 🚛🍓

We’re excited to welcome our newest berry truck to the Smashastrawb fleet. While most people see the finished punnets in stores, there’s a huge journey that happens behind the scenes to get them there.

From growing plants, to picking, packing, cooling and loading — every step matters when it comes to delivering fresh strawberries. This truck will play a big part in helping us move our berries efficiently while keeping them as fresh as possible along the way.

It’s always a proud moment seeing our brand out on the road representing the hard work of our team. Here’s to many kilometres ahead delivering our berries!

Keep an eye out for it on the road 👀🍓

We loved welcoming a wonderful tour group all the way from Perth to the farm this week! 🍓
A big thank you to for bringing such a lovely group to experience our strawberries, learn a little about how they are grown, and see the farm in action.
It’s always special sharing what we do with visitors who appreciate produce straight from the source.
Thanks for stopping by!

Ever wonder how strawberries get from the field to your shopping baskets? 🍓

It all starts with early mornings in the rows, where our team carefully picks each berry by hand. From there, they’re brought into the packing shed where the trays are filled, checked, stacked, ready to be sent off.

There’s so much that goes behind the scenes, and none of it would be possible without the incredible team who show up every day and work so hard to make it happen. From the pickers in the field, to the packing crew and the drivers who get the fruit where it needs to go — we’re so grateful for every single one of them.

Just a small look at our team and all the work behind every punnet.❤️🍓
