🚨 Spray Drift Warning 🚨

Budburst has now started across Tumbarumba vineyards. This is one of the most vulnerable times for our vines, and even small amounts of spray drift can cause major damage.

Herbicides used to control thistles and broadleaf weeds can travel many kilometres in the wrong conditions. Please check the weather before spraying and, if in doubt, speak with your neighbouring grapegrowers first.

Every chemical user has a responsibility to prevent spray drift from contaminating or damaging surrounding crops.

Let’s work together to protect our region’s vineyards this season.

Great review for one of Australia's most famous wines - Penfolds Yattarna Chardonnay 2022

61% Tumbarumba, 26% Tasmania, 13% Adelaide Hills; matured 8 months in 44% new French oak barriques. ‘Tumbarumba has really come of age and its consistently producing some of our best chardonnay now. We have two growers who are producing stunning fruit year on year.’ – Kim Schroeter
One of the best of recent vintages in Tumbarumba has elevated this to the majority composition of Yattarna and the highest proportion of the blend yet. I love its tension and focus, eminently coiled, backward and crunchy even at more than three years of age. Almost ripe fig, white peach and beurre bosc pear are the themes, well framed in the creamy demeanour and supple texture of eminently supportive French oak fermentation. There is an impressive core of fruit presence, tensioned with fully ripe yet impressively energetic acid line that carries a long and enduring finish.

**🚨 SPRAY DRIFT WARNING 🚨** 🌱 Budburst has already begun across the district, and our grapevines are in a sensitive stage of development. Please be aware that spray drift from herbicides, especially those used to control thistles and broadleaf weeds, can cause severe damage to grapevines and other delicate crops. Drift can travel several kilometres, affecting neighbouring properties. Before spraying, **check the weather conditions** and communicate with local grapegrowers or orchardists in your area. All chemical users are responsible for preventing spray drift that could harm crops nearby. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
