LAUGHING JACK WINES... is family owned and operated by winemaker Shawn Kalleske alongside parents Ian and Carol and brothers Nathan and Damon. The Kalleske family have been working the property since 1855, situated near the hamlet of Greenock, a small town in the famous Barossa Valley and home to some of Australia's greatest shiraz wines. Laughing Jack represents the resident kookaburras found in the majestic Blue and Red Gum trees, that stand tall surrounding the family vineyards!

Sip & Stomp 2.0 is here… and tickets are LIVE!

After the incredible response to our very first Sip & Stomp, we couldn’t wait to do it all again — and we’re thrilled to invite you back to Laughing Jack this October for another unforgettable afternoon amongst the vines.

We’re bringing back the things you loved…

💃 Modern line dancing with Saddle & Stomp
🤎 Good company and plenty of laughs

And this time, we’re hoping the Barossa delivers the sunset we promised last time! (The clouds had other plans for our first event, but the atmosphere more than made up for it!)

Another reason to celebrate!

We’re thrilled to share that our 2022 Carl Albert Shiraz has taken home a Trophy at the 2026 Barossa W**e Show!

🏆 Best 2022 & Older Shiraz

This w**e holds a pretty special place in the Laughing Jack family. The Carl Albert is named after our grandfather, so seeing this w**e recognised amongst some of the Barossa’s finest is a very proud moment for all of us.

Made from a single vineyard of Shiraz grown on the east facing slope of Moppa Hill at an altitude of 400m above sea level. The 2022 vintage is one we’ve been particularly excited about — and it’s wonderful to see it receive this recognition from the judges.

A big thank you to everyone who has enjoyed a bottle, shared it with friends, visited us at the Cellar Door or supported Laughing Jack along the way.

We think this calls for a celebration. 🥂

Happy International Grenache Day!

Today we’re celebrating one of the world’s great red grape varieties — Grenache!

Originally from Spain, Grenache has found a very happy home in Australia, particularly here in the Barossa. It’s a variety that loves warmth and sunshine and can produce w**es that are generous, beautifully textured and full of red fruit and spice.

And while Grenache often plays an important role in GSM blends, we think it deserves a little time in the spotlight all on its own.

So, to celebrate, we’re opening our 2022 Old Vine Moppa Grenache for tasting at the Cellar Door this weekend.

Made from old vines in Moppa, this is a great opportunity to taste Grenache in all its Barossa glory and discover why we love this variety so much.

Come and celebrate Grenache with us this weekend!

To say we’re chuffed is an understatement.

The Top Five Red classification is reserved for w**eries with a long-standing track record of excellence — w**eries that have maintained a 5 Red Star rating over many years and are recognised as being among the very best.

For us, this isn’t just about a rating. It’s a reflection of the years of work, the people behind the w**es, the vineyard, the decisions made vintage after vintage, and the belief that goes into every bottle.

And to have that recognised by the Halliday team means a lot.

We’re incredibly proud of our family, our team and what we’ve built here at Laughing Jack — and we’re even more grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way.
