From growing up on sheep and beef farms in New Zealand to helping shape the future of one of Margaret River’s leading estates, Annabel Angland has built her career around a connection to the land and a passion for viticulture.

Now Viticulturist at Cape Mentelle, Angland has recently been named the winner of the IWSC 2026 Young W**e Producer Award, recognising her as one of the most exciting talents in the next generation of w**e professionals.

We spoke to Annabel about her journey in w**e, the people who have shaped her career, and why she believes Margaret River’s next generation has an exciting role to play in the region’s future.
