Cartwheels is owned and run by margaret river locals who just want to show off what our region has to offer. We LOVE food, cooking, creating and experimenting and you guys are first in (and best dressed!). A south west summer cannot be compared to anywhere else the world and we are just trying to make it a little bit better with healthy treats to keep you cool on those swealtering summer days. Our
'Nice' Cream is completely dairy free, refined sugar free and totally healthy because we ONLY use seasonal local fruit!! We chop it all up and freeze it down, then churn it out for you as you watch in amazement that fruit could be so delicious and creamy and totally like ice cream without all the added bits that some of us try to (or have to) avoid. Our standard fruit options are beautiful sweet bananas, west australian mangos and sweet sweet strawberries, but we have just discovered that nectarine is possibly the creamiest of all and probably our favourite flavour so get your hands on some before the season it up. We will be picking up different stone fruit to test out as it comes into season and will always have plenty of delicious options available for you to try. Best way to experience pure Nice Cream joy is with our full combo : Banana, Mango and Strawberry which we serve in big 8oz biopak cups with bamboo biopak spoons (we love our environment and we hope you do too!). We also have a smaller option for just the curius or the kids, in a 4oz biopak cup. Paletas, roughly translated from Latin American is popsicle (or ice lolly if you're from the homeland). The difference being that Paletas are traditionally made with real fresh fruit juice and chunks of fresh fruit. This is why we have decided to name our Paletas such along with our adoration of Latin American flavours, places and people. The Paletas are all lovingly homemade and put through rigorous taste tests (trust us when we say we have some tough critics), before being served to our lovely community and all those getting a taste of the region. We use organic ingredients where possible and only use flavour enhancers for our Paletas when absolutely neccessary and when we say enhancers we mean raw sugar, maple syrup, golden syrup, local honey and himalayan salt. We hand make all of our Paletas so variation in appearance will be common place but the quality is the same all the way through. This is just the start for CartWheels, we have ideas coming out of our ears and can't wait to share our next plan with you- to give you a taste test, think internationally inspired savoury flavours reworked to australian perfection and delivered to your door.... just saying, be excited!
