Ester Spirits is proud to announce Isabella Manfredi as the face of our All-Australian Negroni.

We wanted someone with presence. Opinions. Excellent taste. A ferocious appetite. Someone completely and unmistakably herself, so It had to be Izzi.

Women in booze advertising have been served a pretty narrow brief over the years: look good, hold a pink spritz, preferably near a pool.

We prefer our women with opinions, appetite and a tendency to make a bit of a scene.

Italian heritage. Australian spirit. Just the right amount of attitude.

ESTER STAFF LUNCH

It’s officially spring, so Corinna Kovner cooked up some fish sandwiches for lunch this week, seasoning every step of the way!

We enjoyed them with Chappy's Chips Dill Pickle Potato Chips, because what’s a fish sandwich without ridiculous amounts of dill?

A DRINK ON US.

For the next two weekends, we’ll be offering a free carafe of sparkling sangria for every booking of La Plancha.

La Plancha is wonderfully catered by Little Caterer Sydney. Expect grilled meats, seafood and vegetables, warm flatbread, generous dips, crisp salads and plenty of things that taste even better with a martini, spritz, or Negroni.

OLOTL TURNS ONE.

Come celebrate one year of Olotl | Mexican in Newtown with a one-night-only fiesta at Ester Spirits.

Olotl brings the party with legendary chilaquiles, bold Mexican flavours, mariachi and a proper piñata, while Ester brings the booze with a one-off cocktail created especially for the occasion. Finish things off with a special Olotl x Mapo Gelato dessert and raise a glass to one very good year.

INTRODUCING ESTER LA PLANCHA.

Every Saturday from 4:30pm-8:30pm, we’re handing the kitchen over to Kohu from Little Caterer Sydney for a new weekly pop-up.

Expect grilled meats, seafood and vegetables, warm flatbread, generous dips, crisp salads and plenty of things that taste even better with a martini, spritz, or Negroni.

The menu will change with the seasons, but you’ll find dishes like skirt steak with salsa verde, lemon and oregano chicken with anchovy bread sauce, pickled octopus with macadamia and murra murra, and vine-wrapped halloumi and zucchini with hot honey.

Simple food. Big flavour. Excellent drinks. Exactly as Saturday afternoons and evenings should be. Link in bio to book a table.

On the menu this time around: pumpkin and goat’s cheese tart and witlof, avocado salad with creamy dilly dressing courtesy of Corinna Kovner. We thought the bum was quite crispy, actually.

This week’s edition saw our mates DOOM JUICE W**E swing by with the w**e, while Corinna Kovner and Felix Roger Clark took care of duck confit, anchovy and caramelised onion tart, lentils, and walnut salad.

Hard to think of a better way to spend an afternoon.
