So we have been dealing with varroa for a bit now. Hive loss was a huge thing over the last few months and now with some new splits I have gained some hives some hopefully I get plenty of honey and beeswax.
As we are all aware we need to treat with something. I only use organic methods of treatment. So when you buy my products they have no chemicals in them. So the honey is still the beautiful tasting honey that everyone expects. But also when you burn one of my candles or other products there is no chemical residue build up in my wax. Which is a problem when chemical treatments are used as the wax cannot be used.

I was asked by some residents in dungog about putting a hive in Dungog due to the lack of bees. So basically this will be a pollination service to this area. So this week I have placed a hive on the back of property that isn’t close to houses and the neighbours welcomed it and even had offers for putting other hives around the town. Although I don’t need anywhere to put bees I will consider this in the future. Hopefully this hive will go well and start to pay for itself. Come and see me at the Dungog Markets on Saturday if you want to ask any questions. I will keep updating on the progress of this hive.
