Mr. Riggs Wine Co. Mr. Riggs Wine Co. produces unpretentious wines that express the essence of the vineyard and region's terroir in a style Ben enjoys drinking.

Riggs was founded in 2001 as a collaboration between Ben Riggs (with decades of vintages at McLaren Vale’s Wirra Wirra under his belt and his mentor, Penny’s Hill proprietor Tony Parkinson. The winery is positioned at the premium end of the ladder, using Ben’s extensive contacts with growers to cherry pick fruit from Adelaide Hills, Langhorne Creek (internal link to LC region section) and McLaren

Vale, among other sites. The year 2013 saw the demerger of the Galvanized Wine Group – the collective that oversaw Mr. Riggs’ operations, including his collaboration with Tony Parkinson. Ben is buoyed by his newfound freedom to polish and perfect the wines in their exciting evolution.

As the Sun sets (literally) on Gaffer Month 2026, we would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us and the Flinders Foundation this August.

It has been a big month of lunches, dinners and catch ups with customers, retailers, distributors and supporters of all kinds.

The Mr. Riggs 2024 The Gaffer Shiraz is officially in bottle and almost ready to make its debut, just in time for Gaffer Month!

A classic McLaren Vale Shiraz, medium bodied with lifted aromas of rich red fruit and a soft, flavoursome and fruit driven palate.

Ben Riggs spending the morning at Wildhand Farm with executives from Vistage Australia and New Zealand for a uniquely regional experience.

After spending some time with the animals and exploring the beautiful surroundings, Mr. Riggs w**es were paired with Trilby's Chocolates. Learning about w**e and chocolate making in a celebration of flavours and the craftsmanship of two local producers. A wonderful way to showcase everything our region has to offer.

This August, we celebrate a milestone year and are extremely proud that we have donated over $300,000 to help find a cure for cancer and improve the lives of those living with it.
