Samuel's Gorge

Samuel's Gorge Samuel's Gorge is a mosaic of dreams, with one principal philosophy, that of place.
(1007)

Gondwana's division, Kukabrack custodians, European colonialism, Vignerons past, all led a group of friends and benevolent dreamers to become Samuel's Gorge

We love this drive - our olive tree lined driveway, ocean views to the left, Onkaparinga Gorge to the right. Moody and rainy some days, bright sunshine others. What will it look like on your next visit?

Young Gun of Wine recently did a "Deep Dive" into McLaren Vale Grenache and we're honoured to be included. If you're following us, you probably already know our Grenache is delicious, but we thought we'd let you know what they said:-

Williams included this among his top six picks in the blind tasting. “My second favourite wine of the tasting for its sheer drinkability,” he observed. “Wonderfully approachable, it balances elegance with vibrant, fruit-driven appeal. Fresh raspberry and blue fruit are complemented by lifted floral aromatics, while the palate is juicy, energetic and beautifully expressive. Bright, freshly squeezed blueberry juice–like acidity provides freshness and precision, bringing balance and a mouth-watering finish. Lifted, vibrant and immediately engaging, this is a delicious expression of premium McLaren Vale grenache that captures the variety’s generosity without sacrificing finesse.”

If you've got a bottle on hand, you can check your thoughts against theirs! Enjoy!!

Ok, so you don't need to wait for a frost to chill our Comet Tail Sparkling Shiraz, a fridge does the trick quite nicely, but a frosty morning is gorgeous and could also work. (It also made a lovely back drop for this special wine). The 2022 has now almost 'left our orbit', so jump on line if you need any before the new release in November.

We have beautiful new flower arrangements created for us every few weeks and we had a very happy little guest visit and enjoy one the other day. We've certainly had some stunning days recently. Maybe the bees think it's Spring!

The sun is going down on our 2023 Mosaic of Dreams. There are now only a few dozen left in Cellar Door. If you're keen to grab a bottle or two before it goes, jump onto our website or drop into the Cellar Door this weekend, and if you're visiting tomorrow, maybe bring and umbrella!!

Welcome to Winter, but fear not, we have heaters on the verandah and the fire crackling inside. We're open from 11am -5pm every day of the Long Weekend (and beyond). See you soon!

Our 2026 vintage is now finished, but there's no rest for our winemaking team who are busy blending new wines for you to enjoy. They take care to add just the right amounts of each parcel to create the wines you love. Watch this space for their releases later this year.

We've dropped into some cooler temperatures and grey skies, but it's still stunning overlooking the gorge (and it doesn't hurt that the fire is crackling and the heaters are on). There are a lot of Mum's who visit us, so we toast you all with a glass of our Comet Tail Sparkling Shiraz. We normally celebrate it's release with a bruncheon, so maybe add a glass to yours this Sunday. Ok, everyone else can enjoy a glass too!!
