• Aphelion Wine concentrate on grap

e varieties that thrive in the Mediterranean climate of McLaren Vale, with a sprinkling of the best of surrounding regions, like the cooler Adelaide Hills. Varieties like Grenache, Chardonnay, Sagrantino, Mataro.

• We craft our wines to match the foods we love to eat - Italian, Mediterranean, and Asian. Think tomato, ginger, garlic, chilli, seafood.

• McLaren Vale wine region is diverse, with 19 different soil types. It is sustainable, with more than 60% of vineyards certified by the locally developed Sustainable Australia Winegrowing program.

• Varieties from Italy, Greece and Spain do very well here as they suit our changing climate, what we put on our dinner tables, and what we order when we eat out.

• It starts with the sun and the earth.

• Our carefully selected, passionate grape growers in McLaren Vale hand tend the most select, unique parcels of land in environmentally sustainable ways to produce world class grapes to harvest at their pinnacle.

• From the vineyard, to the winery. The next stage in the journey from grape to your glass, right next to your plate or platter.

• Wineries are big expensive things to set up. Being a new micro-batch wine label, for the time being we lease the use of wineries to undertake our winemaking.

• The magic, once the place and equipment are sorted, is in the winemakers hands.

• Much like Michelin starred chefs, it is half science and half art.

• Our aim in the winery is to handcraft minimal intervention authentic, quality McLaren Vale wines that speak of their provenance and match perfectly with the food you love and your life's best moments.

Together with Blewitt Springs’ own W***y Wonka - Max Collett from Trilby’s Chocolate, we’ll guide you through five single-origin chocolates sourced from some of the world’s most celebrated cacao-growing regions.⁠

Painstakingly paired (it was hard work 😋) to five single-site, sustainable and delicious Aphelion Wines. Each introduced by Rob & Lou Mack, the faces behind the bottles.⁠

From McLaren Vale Grenache to Vanuatu, Ecuador, Peru, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea cacao, every pairing tells a story of people, place and passion.⁠

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck.

I feel pretty lucky.

10 years ago today I married my one in 5 billion.

In 10 years our lives have been filled to the brim.

Our glasses and hearts are full.

Our cup runneth over with gratitude for every person that has touched our lives along the way - you are all parting our story.

We celebrate today in Paris with our two kids! Yes, there will be cheese, 🧀 bread 🥖 pastries 🥐 champagne 🍾 and vin rouge involved!

𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚.⁠

21 years ago today I walked into the dining room of “The Love Boat” - the Pacific Princess - and my allocated seat at dinner was opposite Mr Rob Mack.⁠

This chance moment changed the trajectory of our lives.⁠

So many sliding doors had to align for this to happen.⁠

Including me winning my tickets onto the ship in a 25-words-or-less competition. ⁠

A few nights later we shared a bottle of Barolo with our mums at the Italian restaurant on board. That was Rob’s wine epiphany moment!⁠

Our relation-ship has just been given the keys to the city! Half our lives have been together now. ⁠

Without this very chance meeting, there would be no Aphelion. Or mini-Macks (our long term succession plan haha). ⁠

Thank you, universe 🙌 ⁠

It’s all been by design, written by the stars. ⁠

But it’s also taken lots of compromise, forgiveness, patience, tolerance of the ‘small stuff’ and sharing the same big vision for our futures.⁠
