🏆 2026 Sydney Royal Easter Show 🏆

Fabulous time down south catching up with friends and ‘talking cows’ last week during our annual pilgrimage to the Sydney Show.

And as a bonus, we were also elated with some fantastic results in the show-ring!

Major Results:

Elite Flirt W129- Junior Champion Heifer at 9 months of age.

Elite Sugar Crush U157- Senior & Grand Champion Female (this followed on from her winning Junior Champion Heifer last year at Sydney Show).

Winner of the Breeder’s Group

Winner of Most Successful Simmental-Fleckvieh Exhibitor.

Followed up in the Interbreed the next day where Elite Flirt W129 stood in the Top 3 Interbreed Heifer (a pretty admirable feat for a 9 month old!), Elite Sugar Crush U156 stood in the Top 6 of the Urquhart Trophy and we paired with Tennysonvale Verge to stand in the Top 3 in the prestigious Hordern Trophy.

A very big congratulations to the Baldry Family of Tennysonvale Simmental Fleckviehs for claiming the Supreme Simmental-Fleckvieh Exhibit and Supreme Bull of the Show- an outstanding bull and very well deserving family.

We were very proud to showcase our team alongside a high quality lineup of Simmental-Fleckvieh cattle and the largest breed of the show this year.

A massive thanks to our crew- both during the week and on show-day; it’s always the people that make the show run smoothly!

🎡 Sydney Royal Easter Show 🎡

All the cows and crew are home back in QLD safely after a week away in Sydney- posting results shortly but couldn’t resist sharing this video of our ‘support crew’ back home watching.

Looks like they were elated as we were with how the team went 😍😂.

Introducing the FIRST Release of Boomer in Australia, and the ONLY release for 2026- all in the name of a good cause.

A bull that we purchased the Australian Rights in 2023 after seeing the bull in Canada and realising the contribution he could make to both our herd, and Australian Simmentals.

His first sons are due to sell for us this year and he’s proving to be one of our most consistent AI bulls to date.

A daughter (RF Scream 5117) was bred/sold by Rancier Farms last year in the infamous Friday Night Lights Sale for $170,000 (see photo in comments).

☀️ 🍃 Out and About 🍃 ☀️

As we’re spending the first rainy day inside for the year today, we’ve finally had a chance to sit down and flick through some pics over the last few months.

This time of year always feels like we’re doing ‘nothing but everything!’

The new year brought the tail end of calving, AI programs, bulls chasing cows, weaning of any autumn born calves, breaking in a show team, starting making a plan for our 2026 sale bulls and enjoying working in our new set of yards at the home block (the simple things!)

Hope everyone else is also lucky enough to fall under some rain this weekend- it’s definitely been a long time coming here!

⌛️ On this Day 10 years Ago…⌛️

Our very first Black Simmental calf was born!

Little did we know at the time that Elite Iron Sugar L101 (Mader P Iron Sugar 7X x 3D BLK Full Throttle 383X) would turn out to be one of our most influential breeders/donor cows!

Noteworthy information:

Dam of Elite Quittin’ Time- a Royal Show Champion and the only herd sire that we have retained to date. He is also the sire of none other than Elite Uproar U199.

Dam of Elite Sweepstake- $30,000 sale bull who sold to Karragarra Simmentals

Her 2 full sisters M115 & M118 are also still producing in the herd at 9 years old. These two females have also each produced the top selling bulls in our sales- making this cow family undeniably one of our most consistent breeding lines in our herd.

Hard to believe that it’s been 10 years already since our adventure started, but also so incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved during this time.

Thanks to everyone that’s been a part of our journey so far, and here’s to the next 10 years!

🌟 One Week To Go! 🌟

We’d love to say these three boys got filthy from helping us get the place ‘sale ready’ but puddle jumping has seemingly been more important to them, (fair!!!) Oh well, the grass will get mowed, the sheds will get tidied up and the salering will get painted eventually, right, haha?!

We’ve kept semen in this guy and plan on using him over a few heifers in the upcoming breeding season.
