Challah, a brioche type bread that is plaited before baking and enjoyed on a Friday night as part of Shabbat and other holidays.

I regularly bake my own challah and I usually sprinkle sesame seeds on top, but today I tried something different - I topped it with my Almost Everything Bagel Blend!

For those of you who enjoy challah, what is your favourite topper?

My Almost Everything Bagel Blend:

🖤 Contains - Sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, nigella seeds, poppy seeds and flaky sea salt.

Just a simple & quick salad for lunch made from silverbeet, cucumber and parsley (all from my garden), avocado and salmon (tinned).

And the dressing? I didn't make a dressing! Instead, I sprinkled my Almost Everything Bagel Blend for some texture, crunch and extra flavour.

Cumquat liqueur (contains Mulled Wine Spice Kit).

I usually make marmalade with my homegrown cumquats, but given I have so many this season, I decided to try something different.

Googling cumquat liqueur recipes, I found the recipes used most of the spices in my Mulled Wine Spice Kit, so I tweaked the recipe to suit my ingredients.

The recipe suggests leaving the mixture in the jars for up to 3 months, so I'll report back at a later date with the result. But surely it will taste amazing, given it contains vodka, cumquats, sugar and spices.

Ingredients -
- 1kg cumquats (stab each one with a fork to help release the juices)
- 1 x 1.75ltr bottle vodka
- 4 cups x sugar
- 2 x Mulled Wine Spice Kit
- 2 x 2ltr sanitised jars

Method -
1. Add the following into each jar - 2 cups sugar, 500g cumquats, 1 x Mulled Wine Spice Kit (except the dehydrated blood orange)
2. Add the vodka - divide the bottle into across both jars.
3. Put the lid on each jar and leave for up to 3 months.

Note - The recipe I found mentioned to keep the cumquats under the liquid. I just shake the jar everyday to mix the sugar and cumquats and it looks good.
