Spring weather is coming and so are spring picnics and BBQs 😋🌸

This easy bruschetta can be made ahead of time, then quickly make some little Edwards toasts in the oven or panini press when you’re ready to serve!

It’s also SUCH a good way to use up those older slices of Edwards sitting around. A little olive oil, toast them up and they’re perfect again! 😍

Fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil and crunchy sourdough. Healthy, light, fresh and one of those things nobody is ever disappointed to see come out at a BBQ! 😂😍

Easy, delicious and a great way to sneak in extra fibre. Win win!

Edwards Spelt Wholemeal toast + kimchi omelette 🍳🌶️

Spelt is an ancient grain and a great option when you’re looking beyond modern wheat. It naturally provides fibre, protein and a range of minerals, while giving our sourdough that hearty, slightly nutty flavour.

Then we ferment it the Edwards way for 48 to 72 hours. No added yeast. No preservatives. No additives. No seed oils. No added sugar. Just quality ingredients and time.

Top it with a kimchi omelette and you’ve got fermented foods, protein, fibre and plenty of flavour all in one very easy meal.

Always check your labels!

The Health Star Rating system can be confusing… we’ll just leave it at that. 😅

The front of the bag might say high protein, low carb, whole grain, high fibre, gut friendly, or natural.

The front of the bag sells you the dream. The back tells you the truth.

We even found an additive we’d never heard of before. A quick scan on the Yuka app flagged it as a high risk additive, giving us the opportunity to learn more about what was actually in the loaf.

You’re often not just paying for the fancy packaging and front of pack claims. You’re also paying for additives, preservatives, and ingredients that don’t always live up to the marketing.

The Yuka app is one of our favourite tools for understanding what’s in our food. It scans products, highlights additives, and helps you make a more informed choice.

Edwards on Yuka? 100/100. Zero additives. Zero preservatives.

Many other supermarket loaves score around 40 to 50/100, often because of additives, preservatives, or because they’re not as high in fibre or protein as the front of the pack suggests.

Don’t let those last few slices go to waste!
