😍 A little sourdough fun fact…

Freezing your Edwards loaf and popping it straight into the toaster doesn’t just help it last longer. It can also increase resistant starch!

Resistant starch is great for your gut, helps feed the good bacteria, and can help keep you feeling fuller for longer. 🙌

Plus, keeping a loaf in the freezer means:

💚 Less waste
💚 Bread always on hand
💚 No panic when you realise you’ve run out
💚 A little resistant starch bonus

We’re big fans of anything that supports gut health AND saves any bit of your loaf from ending up in the bin. 😍🍞

The best part about winter is soup and homemade garlic bread. 🥰🥰🥰

Most garlic breads at the supermarket aren’t exactly just garlic and bread… 🙈

But with Edwards, you can make your own using real sourdough. Fermented for 48 to 72 hours, zero additives or preservatives, crunchy, filling, and the kind of garlic bread that mysteriously disappears straight from the tray. 😋

A big bowl of soup, some warm homemade garlic bread, and suddenly winter doesn’t seem so bad. 🍲

What’s your go to soup?

The classic PB&J 🥜🍓

Giving your kids the goods doesn’t have to mean sugar packed, low fruit jams, preservative filled peanut butter, and white bread loaded with 20+ additives.

It can be as simple as our Edwards Organic Light Rye Sourdough 💚 made with zero additives or preservatives and packed with fibre to help keep little tummies full and satisfied.

Pair it with a quality fruit packed jam and a peanut butter made with just peanuts and sea salt, and you’ve got an easy lunch or snack that feels nostalgic, delicious, and made with real ingredients.

Just bringing a little awareness to those big “high protein” claims on the front of bread bags 👀

What you eat is completely your choice. But sometimes the big players make that choice harder by putting huge claims on the front… with very little benefit once you flip the bag over.

One very popular “high protein” bread in the aisle contains 10g of protein per 2 slices. That means you’d need to eat 6 slices just to reach a 30g protein serve 😅

With around 15 slices in the bag, that’s only about 2.5 proper 30g protein serves per loaf.

And while you’re doing that, you’re also getting a big serving of:
• canola oil
• highly processed soy protein isolate
• modified tapioca starch (1413)
• emulsifiers (471, 472e, 481)
• processing aids

Our Edwards Higher Protein Lower Carb Sourdough?
30g of protein in TWO slices 💜

A serve that actually makes sense.

Dense, filling, high fibre sourdough with a long fermentation process and zero additives or preservatives. Just real ingredients and a loaf designed to actually keep you full.

When you know what’s really inside the bag, it puts the power back in your hands to choose what works best for you 🙌

You can find Edwards HPLC in most Woolies, Coles, many IGA’s, and Happy Apples in greater Melbourne!

Some high protein desserts taste like you’re being punished for wanting protein 😭

This however… melted chocolate chips, crunchy peanut butter, banana, and Edwards Higher Protein Lower Carb sourdough 🤤💜

Nearly 16g of protein per slice, loads of fibre, long fermented, zero additives or preservatives, and genuinely tastes good. Like actual food. Not cardboard pretending to be dessert 😉

It’s time to ditch the industrial supermarket white bread! Made for profit, not for people!

Take a look at what’s hiding in many supermarket white loaves 👀

🔴 471 – Mono & diglycerides of fatty acids
Used to keep bread ultra soft and extend shelf life. These emulsifiers are highly processed and commonly used in ultra processed foods.

🟠 472e – Diacetyltartaric acid esters of mono & diglycerides
A dough conditioner used to create fluffy, stretchy bread that stays soft for longer. Often added to improve volume and consistency in mass produced baking.

🟠 481 – Sodium stearoyl lactylate
Used to strengthen dough and create a uniform texture. Helps processed bread stay soft and stable on shelves.

🟡 414 – Acacia gum
A thickener and stabiliser added to improve texture and moisture retention.

Some research has raised concerns around high intakes of ultra processed foods and certain emulsifiers, particularly regarding gut health, digestion, and inflammation. Many parents are now choosing breads with simpler ingredients and fewer additives for this reason! Our Organic Light Rye is a great introductory loaf for kids!

At Edwards, we do things differently:
🤎 Long fermented
💚 No additives or preservatives
💛 Real ingredients you can recognise
💙 Proper sourdough, made slowly

Bread should not need a chemistry lab to stay soft for weeks 🥲
