Half a Century of Cool climate magic
petalumawines turns 50 — and what a 50 years it’s been. Founded back in 1976 by the legendary Brian Croser, Petaluma helped put the Adelaide Hills on the map as serious cool-climate country, long before it was cool (pun very much intended 😏).
Their whole philosophy is “distinguished sites” — matching each variety to the patch of dirt it loves most. Riesling from Clare, Cabernet from Coonawarra, and of course that gorgeous Tiers Chardonnay from right here in the Piccadilly Valley. Home of Croser sparkling, 5 stars from James Halliday, and one of the best decks in the Hills to watch the afternoon sun.
And the best bit? They’re properly dog friendly 🐕our girl Josey making herself right at home with the wonderful Linda, who runs the cellar door and pours with the kind of warmth that makes you want to stay all day.
Petaluma was the very first Chardonnay that I fell in love with and sent me down a glorious path of wine discovery ❤️👏
