Absolutely enamoured with the wattle seed whiskey sour. The shochu bramble was delicious too but just dims in comparison to the lusciousness of this classic with a twist.

Soba mochi with brown sugar syrup, black sesame ice cream daifuku, umeshu affogato.

Simple pleasures. Mochi was nutty and just subtly different from standard rice mochi (I imagine they couldn’t use full buckwheat - wrong texture); black sesame ice cream is always a favourite; Umeshu affogato tastes like xmas pudding with ice cream 😆

Love their soba - they make it on site, I was lucky enough to have seen the artist in action… ❤️ (I can’t go back to shop-bought soba anymore 😅)

My boss said I should make and sell these to raise funds for medical research.

Can’t say I’m not tempted … but it’ll be bought by my colleagues and I’ll probably eat the rest.

Made with pure black sesame paste and coconut cream - vegan gluten free egg free nut free… only affects people with black sesame or coconut allergies 🤣

Not something I normally make, but in order to cater for gluten free vegan needs, and that I have not unpacked my kitchen equipment post-move, it was one of the few things I could make … Coconut mango crème caramel. Oh it worked beautifully! So fresh, so summery, so gonna make it again. Happy birthday to me 🤣

Brisbane city break.
South Brisbane was truly lovely! Nice bars with live music and relaxed vibe (one just 200m from the hotel!!), wine bars, cafes, restaurants, bakeries…. If not for the subtropical weather (I melt at 25C and disintegrate at 30C), I could live here!
