Nicolas Potel's final vintage
Potel is now an old hand in the Côte and it shows as the quality is excellent. Stylistically, if you've enjoyed the Potel w**es in the past, there is no reason that you would not enjoy either variation of the Bellene w**es as they are classic in the best sense of the term. BURGHOUND
As I reported last year, we suddenly lost Nicolas Potel, one of the great people and w**emakers of his generation. His loss reverberated around the w**e world such was his infectious personality and formidable talent.
Once the dust settled the question on everyone’s mind was whether his children – all of who work in the business – would continue on with Domaine de Bellene. They are eminently qualified, each one bringing specific skills to the business including w**emaking talent.
Thankfully, they have decided to do just that, albeit with an aim to decrease the negoce business and sell some vineyard land in the Cote Challonaise, in order to concentrate all their energies on the Domaine and in their words make: Our complete focus on the vines – everything comes from that – nothing changes.
