Darcee and Matt’s wedding was designed around a simple idea - to bring people together over exceptional food in a setting that felt entirely natural. The setting led, and every detail followed.

Set within a flourishing garden, where florals blended seamlessly into cherry blossoms and existing garden beds lovingly cared for by the grooms mother, creating a soft, wild, almost fairytale-like ethereal ceremony setting.

The reception drew inspiration from the intimacy of a French bistro, centred around a long sweeping, curved table dressed in ivory linen, polished silverware, and soft lamplight. As evening settled, the space came alive with warmth, conversation, and a considered sense of simplicity, allowing the landscape to remain the true hero, creating an atmosphere that felt both refined and relaxed.

The menu followed suit, generous, seasonal, and deeply considered. Dishes were hand picked by Darcee and Matt incorporating all their favourite dishes from their favourite restaurants, encouraging conversation and connection, with each course unfolding slowly as the evening deepened. The experience felt abundant yet effortless, where food, wine, and company took centre stage.

1. Fluted tart shell, whipped white taramasalata, Yarra Valley roe pearls, pickle gem & dill garnish
2. Crostini, smoked fish rillette with horseradish & fine herbs
3. Fluted tartlet with marinated chard, buffalo ricotta & walnut sauce
4. Copy of Wagyu porterhouse brochette, white pepper glaze & chive
5. Potato galette with torched tallegio, leek vinaigrette & fried sage
6. Grilled scallop with bullhorn pepper butter, bread served in tasting spoon

I had the great privilege of working for Skye Gyngell during her tenure

This was and still is the most profound experience of my life & the reason I so passionately did and still believe in the importance of hospitality in our lives. She taught me how to cook & about the spirit of generosity. She taught me jj cale. Together, we talked for 100’s of hours on the way to work, on the way home from work, in the kitchen, and on the phone about cooking, food, chefs & restaurants. I would not have the courage to carry on in this ridiculous & beloved industry without her pressing her passionate stamp upon me. This photo was taken the first week I started at Petersham.

Thinking of her family at this incredibly sad time X. I’ll be pulling out her old menus (I kept them all, some badly stained) to remember all she taught me.

Millie + James’ wedding began in Fitzroy with a heartfelt church ceremony, followed by an intimate celebration at the family home.

Guests were welcomed with champagne, canapés and a live jazz trio before gathering under a Hamptons-style marquee for an Italian-inspired shared dinner accompanied by an Italian choir. As the evening continued, the garden transformed into a lively dance floor beneath disco balls and the night sky.

Launching One Toorak Place called for more than just canapés: it called for a moment.

At the Orchard Piper display suite, guests were treated to an exclusive preview of this once-in-a-generation development by Kerry Hill Architects. We paired the architecture with a grazing table styled to match: generous, elegant, and designed to keep conversation flowing (and glasses full).

Because if you’re unveiling Toorak’s next icon, the details deserve to be just as memorable as the design.
