New Release - Guthrie Wines
The River Torrens does not rush, and neither does Hugh. Focused on farming first, he’s more at home in the paddock or the winery than anywhere else, letting the land guide every decision.
-
This year sees some new blood: his first Gamay and a long-awaited Nebbiolo, both crafted with subtle oak, whole-bunch complexity, and a respect for varietal character that’s rarely found at these price points.
-
The labels reflect the winding Torrens through Rocky Glen — simple, unambiguous, and quietly expressive of place, just like the wines themselves.
-
Of particular note, the Nebbiolo is at once very Adelaide Hills yet unmistakably Nebbiolo. Light yet juicy, spicy yet delicately fruited, it’s a vino-da-tavola plus style that may be the best value Nebbiolo in Australia.
