✨ 15 YEARS OF BETHANY CLAIRE CAKES ✨
You might not know this, but this October Bethany Claire Cakes celebrates 15 years in business. 🥹
That’s 15 years of baking, markets, early mornings, late nights, learning as I go and, for the most part, working away by myself.
But this year something unexpected happened…
An opportunity came up for a job I wasn’t looking for, and over winter I took on the role of Market Coordinator at Upwey Community Market. ❤️
It’s been such a fun opportunity to step onto the other side of the market scene and put into practice all the things I’ve learnt over the years as a stallholder.
I’ve also really enjoyed the dynamic of working as part of a committee — bouncing ideas around, planning new things, problem-solving together and seeing all the little pieces come together to create a market that people enjoy.
And the funny thing is, this isn’t me stepping away from Bethany Claire Cakes.
I’m still baking. I’m still a stallholder elsewhere. And I’m still out there at markets selling my cookies and treats. 🍪❤️
So I guess I’ve just added another side to my market life!
And this photo feels like the perfect one to share as part of that story.
This is Josephine. We met about 14 years ago when we were stallholders next to each other at Upwey Community Market — which was actually the very first market I ever started selling at.
Fast forward all these years and Josephine runs Kallista General Store, where you can still find my products all year round.
She has been such an incredible supporter of my little business over all these years, so it was pretty special having her come and visit me at the first market I was running in Upwey. 🥰
Funny how things come full circle, isn’t it?
If you don't already, go and give Kallista General Store a follow — and if you'd like to see what I'm getting up to on the other side of the market, follow Upwey Community Market too. ❤️
